What do you love that almost everyone else hates??

I think @marvin100 might be somewhere in Asia, am I right?

Yup, Seoul.

I love the smell of Vicks Vapo-Rub. Eucalyptus. Yum.

@VeryHappy me too. Vaporub reminds me of being taken care of by my mom when I was sick. It’s a safe, comforting smell.

My mother never used it on me, but I love the smell of eucalyptus. I have been known to leave the top off a jar of Vicks in my bedroom for the aroma, only to be yelled at by that fellow who sleeps there too.

I LOVE the smell of eucalyptus, too. Very comforting to me as there were lots of eucalyptus trees where I grew up in Southern California. The combination of sage, eucalyptus and sea salt is a very specific scent common to coastal California. I love that combination, with some jasmine thrown in, too, and as you move further north up the coast, some pine, too. I assume most people like that, though.

@VeryHappy , @nottelling , @sheliz - then you, too, might like Fernet Branca :slight_smile:

Yes, I do like it, but then again I even like Cynar.

Me too! Cynar sours, Cynar/soda, mmm.

We had an amaro tasting at Christmas and I can confirm that, indeed, most people hate it.

My kinda party

It was definitely your kinda party.

You’d even like my coasters! They are little commemorative porcelain plates from the Museum of Juassic Technology, with a gold mouse in the center and a legend along the rim that starts with: “A flayne mouse, or made in powder & drunk at one tyme …” And continues from there.

I’m embarrassed to say I had to look both of those items up on Wikipedia. I’m not very sophisticated. I’ll stick to my Vick’s Vapo-Rub.

I hope you don’t enjoy it like SF Giants’ Kevin Mitchell used to:

@nottelling - it’s like you’re me. Well, a version of me that owns/uses coasters.

Haha @VeryHappy I guess I’m a plebeian too…had to Google those references too!

Sorry to be late in arriving to this thread, but it just occurred to me that I love the poetry of Sidney Lanier. I suspect that this is a rare taste.

Poetry in general, @QuantMech :slight_smile:

(caveat: I majored in English Lit and specialized in poetry quite heavily)

Kiss My Face makes a cold and flu body wash with eucalyptus.It’s a very nice item to include with your homemade chicken soup delivery when your dearest friends are sick.

lol, marvin100. I suspect that most people who have good taste in literature don’t care for the work of Sidney Lanier these days. For what it’s worth, I also like Randall Jarrell’s poetry quite a lot, and would guess that his work is still on the “approvable” list. :slight_smile:
