This past Wednesday I bought twinkling lights for the back deck, and strung them up a couple days later. They make me very happy! Saturday we went to a chili cookoff in a very mellow part of our city–not something we would ever have done before becoming empty nesters. 
I voted for the chili with chicken in it. Then tonight (Monday), we went to an awards cereomony at my husband’s university where the food was unexpectedly horrible, so on the way home we bought a whole bag of corn chips and two excellent kinds of salsa. That was a tasty second dinner!
