What is with the danged McDonald's ad

jym - no, it won’t work for those ads, and in fact you sometimes have to disable Adblock on a particular site if you want to see a video, since the video itself won’t load unless the ad runs. But that’s a small price to pay for never having to see most ads!

Add me to the anti faction for the ad by the company which shall not be named. We’ve already got an adblocker program on this machine but maybe we need to upgrade.

Just wanted to report that adblock works for CHrome. :D

i hadnt had any trouble with ads, but as per my "technical difficulties " thread, i couldnt post at all!
;)

I’ve had Adblock for Chrome for a few years. It is divine. It also seems to work when watching some video, like The Daily Show, so I can watch full episodes with no commercials.

I installed the adblocks, but my DH tells me it might also prevent needed popup warnings like when a printer isnt working or if a site is suspicious , etc. I hope I am paraphrasing correctly, but he wants me to uninstall it :(

I’ve never had a problem with adblock doing any of those things, jym626, and I’ve used it for many years (millions of others do as well). I think it’s the best thing that ever happened to the internet! Show your husband the editors’ reviews on CNET:
[adblock - CNET](http://reviews.cnet.com/1770-5_7-0.html?query=adblock&tag=srch&searchtype=products)

I am probably not phrasing correctly what he said to me, but he is in IT, so I trust/respect his thoughts/opinions. Doesn’t mean I’ll follow them, but I respect them :)

I think there is a difference between a popup blocker and an ad blocker. Usually.

Adblock doesn’t interfere with any of those things.

I’ll readdress it with DH when he gets home. Perhaps the explanation snafoo was on my end :o

You can always click on the Adblock icon in the toolbar if you want to pause it or tell it not to run on a certain website. It is very user friendly and customizable with the use of filters.

Well, whatever I downmloased must not have done what I thought, as it isn in my toolbar, list of programs, and I am still seeing ads. At leas the IE one I thought I downlaoded. Will check chrome (I run both)

There is a version for outlook, which is the one I used. It was FREE & eliminated all the ads that I used to see for CC. Thanks to McD who made their ad obnoxious enough for me to finally do something to get rid of it!

^^^^^^Ditto

Maybe I should download one with a built in spell-checker!!
