What is your "adult beverage" of choice during quarantine?

Cinnamon Toast Crunch - half Fireball, half Rum Chata!

Jack & Diet Coke - redneck girl here! Lol! I also drink wine from time to time.

Dh loves craft beers! We have a nice beer and wine shop within walking distance of where we live. I listed off several of those mentioned in the thread. He has had a couple, but several are not in our area, so perhaps they aren’t widely distributed. He enjoys the beers from Cigar City Brewing (Tampa), which he thinks are probably more widely available.

While his first social media platform was Strava, his second was an app called, “Untapped,” where he can post and rate his beers and see what his friends across the country are drinking as well.

An inexpensive but yummy French Pinot Noir with meals. Other times vodka with flavored seltzer and a splash of an organic juice blend (pomegranate, tart cherry, red grape, purple carrot, cranberry & blueberry) I’ve convinced myself it’s a healthy little elixir.

Can you please share a link??

I live in PA where liquor stores have been closed for weeks. Not a problem as I only drink beer (mainly IPAs, although Victory Summer Love is now out, so had that last night), and beer stores are still open as, oddly, they are considered essential. H is sticking with his usual Coors Light; glad I was wearing a mask in the store as it’s just embarrassing to buy that.

Mt Dew. What can I say? I’m not a teetotaler but I guess I’m boring. We mainly drink alcoholic beverages when on vacations or at people’s houses and it’s being served. We did drink a bottle of blackberry wine we had on our monthly anniversary since we couldn’t go out…

But I truly am allowing myself Mt Dew. I restrict sodas to special occasions due to coming from a direct line of tons of diabetics on both sides of my family. Right now I don’t care. It’s a comfort drink and I’m allowing myself one per day (don’t like diet ones and have never seen good scientific support for using those instead for health reasons).

I wish I liked plain ole tea better. It’s a much better source for caffeine, so I drink it in the morning “for my health.” But that’s not this thread. I’m sticking with Mt Dew for the pandemic and mental comfort.

@LuckyCharms913 Now, now…no beverage shaming…we’re all in this together. ?

Aperol Spritz - I had my husband buy the small bottles of Prosecco to use (as he doesn’t drink it so I only make one at a time).

Thank goodness the liquor stores are essential business in NJ, my husband keeps making liquor store trips and trying out new inexpensive wines (he drinks wine with dinner every night).

I love this post.

@Creekland I haven’t had a Mt Dew in I don’t know how many years…I may need to rectify that.

My husband has been into making craft cocktails in the last year or so. We have an embarrassingly stocked bar and wine cellar. Five o’clock is cocktail hour, I’m partial to bourbon drinks during the winter and martinis in the warmer months. He also has a repertoire of tequila and tiki rum drinks. Oh and wine with dinner. Our consumption has increased with stay at home.

When H and I were on our 18 day ski trip returning in early March before this lockdown began, I was drinking Aperol sprintzes in Jackson Hole with friends. That has become my drink of social distancing since it tastes like summertime and I’m hoping by summer we will return to some kind of a new normal. We have been going through plenty of good wine with dinner and we are supporting our local San Diego breweries with curbside pickup. Today I am stopping by the urban winery my D’s got me a subscription to for my birthday to pick up the Zinfandel for April and a couple of other bottles.

Woodford Reserve double oaked Kentucky bourbon over ice.

Takes care of a scratchy throat.

Luckily, I’ve always kept a well stocked bar, and my W makes sure we have good supply of wines. Since our S has been home we’ve been trying all sorts of cocktails; Manhattan, Old Fashion, Pisco Sour, Negroni, Americano,…

Also made,…Zombies (flash from the past)

Our Total Wine store does home delivery. This is new. We ordered wine and sodas.

We drink mostly Sav Blanc from New Zealand and Pinot Gris from Oregon.
Deep Eddy’s ruby red grapefruit vodka cosmos are pretty good too! But we can’t have more than 2.

We went to Deep Eddy’s last time we were in Austin. I had several different drinks while we were there. All of them were fantastic. They weren’t open for tours when we went because they were doing big renovation.

I’m rotating between red wine (usually a malbec) white wine (chenin/viognier blend), Fulton hard seltzer (local MN brand) and experimenting with new cocktails. My husband can’t stop buying different bourbons, so they are generally bourbon based. Current favorite involves a muddled clementine, bourbon, triple sec, red vermouth and bitters, shaken and poured over crushed ice. If I’m feeling the COVID-19 lb weight gain, it’s sometimes a cucumber vodka with lime LaCroix and a lime wedge.

Wine is our usual drink of choice, altho DH will have cognac or bourbon occasionally. I prefer reds - malbec, merlot, cab - and probably have 2 glasses/week. As the weather gets warmer, I’ll add whites.

Not sure a link is allowed, but the brand is Peony Vodka. We were about to launch a new brand on April 1 but all that is on hold for now.
