What is your "adult beverage" of choice during quarantine?

Dh is Louis Jadot wines and Dalwhinnie 15 yr whisky

Sprite here.

My beer store is also a small grocery store. There were probably 4 of us in there. Yes to distancing and yes to mask.

It was all impulse buy. I was looking for beer styles but didn’t have breweries in mind

Weekend mornings it’s mimosas or bellinis. Wine with dinner at least a few nights a week. And some nights, H has been making Irish coffees but I’ll only drink them if he whips the cream by hand ?

We didn’t make it to pick up wine over the weekend from the tasting room I have a wine club membership from so we are going today. If you buy 2 bottles of wine they give you a free pizza. They also have wonderful baguettes from a local bakery and cheeses. So you can see what will be for dinner at our house tonight!

My H is down to just a few bottles of leftover wine from one of the kids wedding. We have different tastes and I have a stash of several bottles of Pinot Noir from several Santa Ynez Valley wineries. I usually buy wine at the grocery store or Costco. Beer is usually bought at Costco. We are considering getting some bottles of wine from local restaurants as they are selling to go with take out. Last week we got delicious mango pineapple and blood orange margaritas with our Mexican food pickup.
Hard alcohol we are going through what we have in our alcohol cabinet. Maragaritas, Moscow Mules, one night I made mojitos with mint from the yard. My H also has been mixing vodka with fresh squeezed lime or orange. I even made a drink I used to like at the beach years ago- vanilla rum with fresh squeezed orange juice. Tastes like a 50-50 bar. The vanilla rum must be 15 years old but it’s still good.
My H picked up a 12 pack of Coors light from the gas station last week. Most people had on a mask. Otherwise he has Firestone Walker 805 in the refrigerator that has been around for a few months.
I’m a lightweight drinker but I have been drinking more since the stay at home order began. My H likes to have a drink Thursday after work as that is the end of his workweek.

H is drinking his usual cider, white wine, and margaritas.

At our other place (2 hours away, fully-stocked pantry and freezer, no contact with people), I like to have a cocktail before dinner. I ran out of gin, so I switched from a Negroni to a Boulevardier.
Otherwise, we pull something from the wine fridge, lately some good reds from WA.

@zeebamom - have you checked out Love That Red winery in the garages? They have some good reds (hence the name - also, that is the name of a race horse).

603 Winni Amber Ale. Doing my bit to boost the local economy.

So, I have a high school classmate who owns a wine shop with his brother. Their father owned a wine shop in our hometown when we were growing up. They are doing virtual tastings on FB with a live stream on Friday nights. They select three wines each week and ship M-W. Super fun as they are very knowledgeable. The first week they sold 90 bottles of wine for the tasting. Not sure how they did last week. It’s been a huge hit. On Fridays, I drink those!

@GKUnion , one of the pubs in Ireland that I recall was Mulligan’s of Sandymount, in Dublin. We ate there simply because it was our first night, jet lag was still with us, and it was near our hotel.

After having a fantastic experience, I later read somewhere that it was widely ranked as one of Dublin’s top ten gastro-pubs.

Another was a little hole-in-the-wall outside of Galway called Tir Na Nog. Full of locals. We pull up in a coach bus and they welcome us like long lost family.

In Youghal (sp?) we stopped at The Quays. Right on the water. View would have been great had it not been raining sheets of water! Upstairs they had the most comfortable and inviting rooms–like sitting in someone’s parlor.

Last place I’ll mention was a wool shop outside of Killarney, in Aghadoe Heights. We wondered why our tour guide was having us stop there – it turns out they serve you FREE Irish coffee while you browse. Don’t recall buying anything, but certainly enjoyed the drink!

Wine during the week (switching from red to white now that the weather is warming up here) to signal the end of my work day and the shutting down of my computer for the day. On Friday and Saturday nights I like to mix fun cocktails - lately I’ve been drinking Aviations and Bees Knees. I never got into the habit of a daily glass of wine before, but now that I’m working from home every day I have been really enjoying a small post-work glass.

Looks like many of us who are working from home are enjoying our adult beverages during work hours - just saw this headline - “residents who are working from home are drinking on the clock, survey finds”

Does black coffee count as an “adult beverage” ?

I saw a funny viral video the other week. A guy was out jogging on trash/recycling pickup day and was recording video of all the recycling bins loaded with wine and liquor bottles.

In our house it does…not so much among my 16 year old’s friend’s houses…

I usually drink Rose only in the summer, but decided to start early and opened my favorites: Whispering Angel (Chateau D’Esclans) and Domain Tempier Bandol.

I used to joke that the biggest difference when my husband worked form home vs. going into the office is that he would have a little bit of wine with lunch. Guess, lots of us are enjoying something with our lunch nowadays.

Corona beer…
