I agree with what you said about Fargo oregon101. Heard it might be the he last season. I also enjoy Major Crimes. Mary Mcdonnell is on both. Haha
I also love Million Dollar Listing New York. Although I liked it when they showed 1 and 2 million dollar places as well as the 10 to 20 million dollar ones. But I still enjoy it.
I just watched this past episode of Claws. Pretty raw, not what I am looking for in summer entertainment. I may try another episode. l liked Murder in the First and disappointed that was not renewed.
I love the Fosters, but it has gotten too melodramatic for my taste recently. Just too much drama no mater where you turn, including the Callie cliffhanger.
Claws sounds too dark, and I gave up on the Fosters. I don’t really like reality shows I’ll check out Grantchester, Mother and other strangers, Bold type. Keep the ideas coming in case I’m not the only one looking for summer shows. There has to be something fun and light that’s not reality TV?
Any idea whether Major Crimes is coming back this summer and whether there are any light capers (I liked Leverage too) or ‘Suits’ or ’ Royal Pains '.
“Any idea whether there are any light capers (I liked Leverage too) or ‘Suits’ or ’ Royal Pains.”
White Collar
Burn Notice
Lucifer ( forget the supernatural stuff, light funny caper romance at heart)
And I know it’s bizarre but Grimm. And I have ZERO interest in supernatural/monster stories. But the underlying stories of friendship ( a major theme ) and romance that are really the heart of the show sucked me in. one of my favorite shows ever.
I liked Burn Notice and White Collar, but they’re finished and can’t find any show in that style. Everything’s so dark or mean or scary :s … Sorry I’m not edgy. ;(
Thanks for Lucifer, I’ll check it out!!
One of my colleagues is a big fan of Grimm, but I always wrote it off because she also loves horror movies (which, as you might guess, I can’t watch).
I just found CBC’s Anne, on Netflix Anne with an E. Delightful, depicts things from Anne’s past that make it a bit truer to life (being an orphan in the 19th century was no picnic) + great production values.
@MYOS1634 I know EXACTLY what you mean. Can’t stand dark and edgy. After White Collar and Burn Notuce I was looking for exactly what you were. My sister is like us too. She was watching Grimm with my nephew and called me and told me I HAD to watch. Nope I said. No way. No interest in horror/super natural etc. But I was over at their house and was semi-forced to watch a season 2 episode. Omg. It was much much lighter tone than I expected. It had this huge amount of camaraderie/ friendship as a focus .
My sister told me season 2 was better than season one. So I read a synopsis of season one on the Internet and watched " the story so far" mini episode that you can find on Amazon Season 2. Skipped Season one
It really is my favorite show ever. . Parts are laugh out loud funny. And not in a dark humor way. But in a sweet/funny way. This show has great heart. The actors are great together.( And incidentally the most tippy -top school educated actors you may ever find as a cast as a whole : Harvard, Brown Northwestern…) And I got super into the romance stuff that came heavy in later seasons. Put your prejudices aside and try it the way I did.
For you guys who enjoyed White Collar and Burn Notice, may I suggest Terriers? It’s on Netflix. The title is stupid but don’t let that sway you. It was a great little series that the critics loved but that never caught on (probably because of the stupid title). https://www.netflix.com/title/70177059
Loved the show. Unfortunately it was cancelled after last season. When a network scripted show gets relegated to the summer in later seasons, it’s a pretty loud death knell. Unforgettable, which I also loved, also fell into that category.
MSNBC has a special on tomorrow night about Watergate - “All the President’s Men Revisited.” Produced by Robert Redford, I will love seeing the scenes with him in the movie, but he hasn’t aged as well as some of the handsome men of his time (think Paul Newman who was always handsome).
