What new summer show do you recommend?

Per the MSNBC website it’s on tonight at 9 pm Eastern. My Pacific time channel guide shows it at 6 pm.

Thanks for some reason I think I was looking at Sunday. Duh… lol

Just rewatched All the Presidents Men on my Amazon digital. It holds up so well.

Watched the MSNBC special tonight, and watched the 20/20 last night. I actually thought 20/20 was a little bit better.

Do you all remember the summer the Watergate hearings were on, that they rotated who carried the hearings every day? As a big All My Children watcher, every third day it was skipped while it was ABC’s day to air the hearings.

It was interesting to see that Fred Thompson was a senator on the committee asking questions. No wonder he was such a good DA on Law and Order.

I remember the hearings being on each day, but didn’t remember that they were rotated. Interesting factoid!

Some suggestions from the Washington Post this morning https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/tv/20-new-and-returning-tv-shows-that-you-should-check-out-this-summer/2017/06/15/6f730dce-4ad1-11e7-bc1b-fddbd8359dee_story.html?utm_term=.cd3458ae4d0c

So far I’ve finished Anne with an E and started Lucifer, and couldn’t find Grimm but am still looking - will do as you didn’t, read synopsis and start at season 2. I was actually one of the 47 people who watched Terriers and I agree, what a stupid title for an excellent show!! :frowning:
I can’t remember Watergate, I wasn’t born yet :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s not a new summer show, but ‘Big Little Lies’ is a dramatic miniseries that was really good! It stars Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Zoe Kravitz, and Laura Dern. I binge-watched it, and was so disappointed to learn there will be no more episodes. Watch it on demand or HBO Go.

I just finished watching The Keepers on Netflix after someone on CC recommended it. Really good! It’s a 7 episode documentary about the unsolved murder of a nun in 1969 near Baltimore and its connection to a priest accused of sexual abuse of girls at the Catholic high school where they both worked.

There’s talk of a 2nd season of “Big Little Lies”.

@patsmom – I just finished “The Keepers” too! I really like it (although parts of it were infuriating.) Now I need something else to watch!

Finished Handmaid’s Tale.

Not a new summer series, but I just ran into The Collection on Amazon Prime. It’s about two French brothers with a Paris couture house right after WWII. Somewhat obvious plot lines but fabulous clothes, interesting sets, wonderful music, and good acting. I’m through episode 3. I am a bit disconcerted because one of the actresses is also in Doctor Who, which is another one of my favorites series on BBC America. It always takes me a bit out of the show to see a familiar character from elsewhere.

Also Orphan Black, on it’s last season. Tatiana Maslany does a fantastic job (finally won an Emmy) playing multiple clones. She routinely does four or five, and has done up to, I think, 11 different characters.

@MYOS1634 , Grimm is ridiculous IMO, but my kids and hubby watched it for a few seasons. Shows I LOVE: Season 3 of Broadchurch just started. House of Cards, but start at the beginning. Narcos, ended last year, but I am champing at the bit for season 3. One of the most compelling shows ever, if a bit violent. But I could watch Wagner Mara painting a wall. Stranger Things was really enjoyable, even though I am not a sci-fi person. Catastrophe is fun, but being British, the seasons are very short. And I second Great British Bake Off. Totally addicted!

The new season of Fosters, GOT and Death in Paradise.

I watched the Premier of “Midnight, Texas” and liked it. But I am not sure I could have followed it if I hadn’t read the book. (By Charlene Harris) On Mondays NBC. I LOVE knowing the end of things so am happy it seems faithful (so far) to the book.
