When the series resumed this fall, the Chicago Tribune ran an article about it. They said Brody was initially supposed to be killed off in season 1, but when the producers saw what a draw his story line was, they kept him alive. I’m betting Damien Lewis is grateful!!

But it does kind of bode poorly for Brody staying alive indefinitely. They obviously had different plans for which direction the story was going to take, that then had to be altered.

From my perspective, they are the only two characters who are not expendable. While there are many characters I’d like NOT to see go, I can’t see how the series could continue if they removed either Saul or Carrie (I mean, it could, but I think it would lose a lot).

I haven’t read through this entire thread, but DH and I do watch Homeland. Carrie gets on my nerves at times with all that craziness of hers. I can’t begin to imagine her as a mother! If they don’t get rid of Dana soon, I may have to quit watching; I have no interest at all in teenage angst! I don’t care about Brody’s family and I don’t particularly care for Brody, though I wouldn’t particularly want to see his character killed. I really have grown to like Quinn.

Well, yes, even as I typed it I realized that Saul/Carrie is probably more central. But if she loses Brody Carrie will be devastated. There is something so vital in their connection to each other. She felt that even when she knew he had been turned, before anyone else believed her.

I’m having a hard time getting over Saul okaying eliminating Brody.

Carrie seems to have felt the baby move in the last episode. What week is it? If she was 13 weeks when Peter Quinn talked to her about it, then would she be only 14 - 15 weeks now? No one feels the baby move that early, so, it could be typical Hollywood obtuseness, time is being scrunched, or the pregnancy is further along than we’ve been told. Meaning Brody could be the father.

Not a twist I’d like to see, but one they are clearly keeping up their sleeves, just in case.

I’m tired of Dana too but I’d like to see Mike come back. And F. Murray Abraham just gets better and better!

I can’t figure out Abraham’s character. First I thought he was self-serving by ingratiating himself with the heir-to-the-throne senator. Then in the next episode, he became Saul’s accomplice in locking the senator in the conference room. What is his job title anyway? When he was shown in a meeting with Quinn last season, I was under the impression that he and Quinn worked for an entirely different agency than Saul.

Mad as a hornet’s nest. I saw an article link online about how the season finale had been leaked online yesterday. So I decided to read the article, fully expecting if they were actually going to disclose any plot information, they would provide a Spoiler Alert. They did not; and I read the one sentence that actually told me what the cliffhanger for next season is going to be.

Am I the only one who felt that tonight’s season finale was a letdown? The previous episodes had me at the edge of my seat whereas this one just wasn’t of the same caliber IMO.

I thought tonight’s episode was excellent. It was more emotional than the others. We found out Brody’s fate, who the father was, and what will probably happen to the baby. I am not sure what will happen next season, but I suspect Saul will be involved.
