This would definitely cut down on repetitive posts.

My CC wishlist:

I would spell check (although the ability to edit is nice).

For important lists/topics- i.e.- “Schools known for awarding merit money”
you could lock old lists and start fresh every 2 years
People would stick to the list format w/ little discussion

More activity on 2nd & 3rd tier schools

That everyone be limited to 250 words (like a college essay!) unless it is cptofhouse, thumper, xiggi, momofwildchild, etc…with lots of paragraphs… although sometimes a rant is good :)

You could download a free internet browser that has spell check. I’m on Firefox right now, and everything I type is automatically spell checked. mssspelledwrd - That has a little red line under it, without me doing anything. Most browsers, if they don’t have this automatically, have a feature you can turn on.

Another forum that I follow allows you to “thank” a particular poster for a good piece of advice. The number of times the person is “thanked” is shown over on the left near the poster’s info/post count. (“JustaMom5465 Thanked 20 times in 118 posts.” Or something like that) It’s kind of like a “like” button. It’s handy.

I think CC deactivates signatures in the interest of privacy. However, I think it would be nice if they were activated as optional for members. My other discussion forums make them available and it helps me remember who’s who.

Come on–what if someone has a really complicated problem and is a new member and needs help? What if someone wants to write a detailed SAT guide? What if someone is reflecting on his/her high school experience?

Admittedly sometimes people post overly long, rambling posts, but there’s a simple way to get around that problem–don’t read such posts.
