Who is # 24601, I wonder?
Prisoner 78838 reporting, captive since August 2006. Good grief.

Looks like Dec 2010 for me. Probably saved me a lot of excess worrying since DS1 had already almost completed all his college applications by the time I joined. Still I’ve learned so much that helped make the transition much smoother!

What number am I Xiggi??? I am on my iPad ad can’t see the numbers! Hi Sooviet!! Haven’t seen you in a long time! How are you doing?

I was on the old board before the changeover in '04, I believe beginning in '02.
DD graduated from college in '08, DS in '11…

WAIT… Found it! I am #7367. I want a bumper sticker with CC 7367 on it!

^ 7367 :)

All righty…you all are making me open IE…something I rarely do…just because I want to see my number. i was on in 2004, but didn’t create an ID and actually post anything until October 2005… oh well fail. I went through all the skins and can’t get my “number”…

Hi fender!! It loooks like the last posts on the old classic forum were on Oct 11. Some of us resisted change til the bitter end :)

It looks like they must have archived some threads. There are far less listed than I remember.

mo3b, works on my chrome. No need for IE.

momof3- you are 46016

Thanks for explaining, Xiggi. I am on Safari but I now see what you mean by my “number” being in the address on the browser for my member profile. Are these numbers in the numerical sequence of membership registrations?

User 9058, apparently. Transfer from the old site. I think I joined that one during my junior year of high school back in 2004… around the time when I started to freak out about college admissions, haha.

1112 for me…Most people of my vintage have already left, but my kids were born 5 years apart, so we’re still hanging around and paying college tuition.

xiggi – help – I think my number’s 1378706 – that’s so high – how do I get it down?

Hi legendofmax!! How ya doin??

just hang around a long time … and your member number will wander towards the top of pile of the active posters.

3ToGo … poster # = 16,020 … who started years before my oldest was a junior and whose username is obsolete and should now be 1Down2ToGo

I’m pretty sure I was on the old forum, too, but didn’t start posting here until October '04. One of my Ds found CC first and she was here for a while before I joined. She eventually left because of a couple of obnoxious parents! :)

It is 7 years for me and my youngest, who starts college in less than two weeks, wants to know why I am still here! Hard to explain why I enjoy reading the cafe blogs and commiserating with the other parents of the college class of 2016.

I think it is 397425.

And I have no idea how one changes this nor know the finer details of how the number were assigned in the first place. A logical explanation would be that everyone gets a “number” at the registration to allow the database to “do its job” but that might not explain what happened during the conversation from the Classic forum to the spiffier one we have today. My speculation is that CC maintained the original registry but I could be wrong.

Except for the 500 dollars Christmas check people with low numbers receive, there is no difference for members. ;)

By the way, although this is not surprising, here’s Numero Dos.

I wonder if they assigned a Number Six to Patrick McGoohan. CC, at times, seems to be a recreation of the Prisoner as nobody seems to be able to leave, and everyone is closely monitored.

Ellemenope & Xiggi, do you recall when you joined? When did CC begin? In 2000 when I found it, there were a very small number of posts, the PR board was the busy place.

Years ago, I posted the history of the earlier identities of College Confidential. It’s been a while but I think there was an interim board between the old PR forum and the Classic Forum. Perhaps the search engine will be kind, and I can dig that old post from the arcanes of CClandia.

If I remember correctly, I joined in March or April 2003, and there were already plenty of members debating the same issues as today’s.
