<p>To give an idea of the longevity of the board, here is a post from the time when Dave Berry answered posts. Before that, there was a very rudimentary board when College Confidential was still called College Prep Services, Inc.</p>

<p>Thanks, Xiggi, I found a couple of posts from the early days with a different user name and now that I think of it, I think I was required to reregister somewhere along the way. It’s odd to realize how long I have been reading this board.</p>
<p>I remember Dave answering questions. It was really too small in the beginning to be anywhere near as helpful as now, something about reaching a magic number of participants in order to have information for most needs.</p>

<p>I just got off my phone and checked on my computer: August 2004, 6815, I guess that is right. I think I was on before this and in August everything got shifted…This was my contact to the U.S. and all things college!</p>
<p>I still have one in school, but he’s working on a second masters! and working and married so it is different to say the least than my interest in 2003!</p>
<p>14007, I remember coming on in 2003 and was part of the roll over, August 2004. I feel so bad coming on after oversea, with 1323 posts and I have almost 10 times as many :D</p>

<p>speaking of anniversaries, today is my 7th anniversary at work! crazy that i’ve been on here longer then I’ve been there!</p>
<p>It’s some of the departures that sadden me. I’m a member of a few list serves and boards, and sometimes you have this poster who’s so visible and helpful all the time, and then one day you realize you haven’t seen anything from a while, and sure enough that ID has disappeared for good.</p>
<p>The join date is below the username for everyone to see. H got me hooked when son was a HS senior investigating OOS schools- I was a lurker and finally started posting when he was going on to college. I’m 2 shy of being the 80,000th joiner. </p>
<p>Wish those whose kids are long ago graduated from college would give us updates. Too many of the older, wiser posters are long gone- leaving people like ME the expert! Some day I, too, shall move on.</p>
<p>Wow, howdy to some venerable posters like Xiggi and Sybbie. We just need Curmudgeon and some big hugs from others to be complete.
I found this forum in '99 when D1 scored high on PSAT and I was searching for what her scores meant. I registered back then and participated a bit, but when D2 rolled around my username got mixed up (and/or I forgot my password) so I started over.</p>
<p>So what was your previous iteration, dragonmom?</p>
<p>It must be tough to start over with a new screenname and rebuild ones history. But it seems to happen more than I realized.</p>
<p>I think my CC number is too low…I think I might have visited CC casually starting in 2000, because that is when I started volunteering in our high school’s College and Career Center. But I didn’t really get interested until D1 started the app process.</p>
<p>I think my number is too low because I have a lower number than H (in the 3000s). But I think he was slow in migrating to the new board.</p>
<p>The migration threw a lot of us off! I think I joined in 2002… and remember when things got ugly over on the PR board. CC was alway s’more fun is I moved my focus over here. I, too, joined when it looked like DD would be a NMS.</p>
<p>I still can’t find my number and it’s bumming me out. if someone can see mind, please share.</p>
