You’e 46016, momofthreeboys!

5723 Sometime in 2003 when I was looking for National Hispanic Scholar info. I remember spending my lunch break on CC that Thanksgiving because I had to work. Received lots of wonderful advice when son was applying/auditioning.

Thanks Patsmom! I feel like part of the gang now.

I think I’ve been lurking on/off since 2000. So I have been here too long.

lamom, we’re close. I’m 5748. I guess I’ll stay on CC until my post count equals my CC number :)

Goodness. In an as-of-yet futile attempt to find my “number”, I found this message on my profile
Who knew we had a dating site? Unfortunately, the message is a couple of years old. Dang. I really need to pay better attention. lol

Hi, y’all. Nothing really ever changes at the ranch. Texas is still hot. We do have a great crop of grasshoppers this year. “Biblical” comes to mind. The kid is still ginning right along. And, yup. I’m still here paying back my cc “debt that can never be fully re-paid” but almost exclusively on the Pre-Med board. The way I figure it, I’ll be completely out-of-date and useless there, too, before long.

BTW, my date says October 2004 but I was a migrant from the old board, too. I think.

Curm, your number is 19142.

patsmom, it was fun looking at that old link. So many members who no longer post. I often wonder if any of them ever check in here to see what’s new. :)

I joined in May '08 when in thought my HS Jr S was going to be my kid on the couch Forever. So many posters here offered great advice on how to get him back on track and into a great school where he will be a thriving junior this fall.

D is a new freshman and the process with her was so much easier except she chose a school far from home in an area that i wasn’t familiar with. I met a mom on cc who had attended that small school who helped me see that D’s choice was the right one for her!

alwaysamom,

I like to think that Marite, Northstarmom, Jamimom and others are still logging in now and then just to see if it’s still crazy here. But they’ve probably moved on to bigger and better things…

I lurked on the old boards and started posting once the new board was up and running. That was the fall of my senior year of high school, so I had the honor of being in the first graduating class on New CC. My [first thread](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/10718-what-colleges-am-i-suited.html) is appropriately cringeworthy. Legendofmax (hi!) is the only poster from that generation I’ve seen around, I think.

It’s hard to believe so many years have gone by…I’m now a fourth year PhD student working on my dissertation prospectus. I’ve met some cool people here, learned a lot, and hopefully helped others.

Haha, we are now splitting generations by Classes of XXXX. Fwiw, the previous generation (HS 2004) was known as the Class of the Yale disaster, as the results of the early admissions were, to say the least, hard on the CC family. Amazingly, almost anyone I knew was hit by New Haven luminaries ended up with remarkable opportunities.

I remember Legendofmax, and all the others Patsmom mentioned. Marite was so helpful when my son moving to Cambridge , with advice on apts and places to eat. I wish we had an old timers thread. I recall when Overseas son was choosing his college, and now he’s married. I find it easy to share on this site. I joined the old board in jan 2004, right after the worm had applied to colleges. He decided to go 2 days before winter break in junior year, and we took a guess at the CS schools. He wrote essays about grand mom, which I learned was such a cliche. Had I been on this board a month before, I would have been so much more knowledgeable.

I cannot find my #, perhaps cuz using iPad.

The one real life person I met was oaklandmom, and she is a gem. If there is a future meeting in s. fl or Boston, count me in.

Focusing on other’s concerns about his /her child has been steadying for me. I moved cross country, broke up after few years, and came “home”. I also lost both parents. I rejuvenated my career. I hope I have helped others along the route to adulthood.

Bookworm – you are # 2586!

CD, thanks so much!!!

You have always been a slice of the USA for me, my news channel, book club, tips and tricks and trips.

Trying to decide how to feel - most of my co-posters are now in the " oldies" group…

I like the idea of staying tll posts match number:). S was a 2004.

I’m well past my “sell by” date then…
