Who is the worst teacher you've ever had and what has he/she done to you?

Title is self-explanatory. I had this chemistry teacher in 10th grade that told the class, “There’s a little devil inside of me that loves giving my students bad grades” and he was being dead serious.

had a french teacher her called me a lazy liar in front of the whole class, because our substitute felt like I took too long at the nurse’s office.

I had a PE/Health teacher last year who I accidentally hit with a dodge ball. I apologized sincerely, and as I was walking away, he called me a stupid liar. Other incidents included giving me 0’s on things I turned in and saying I never turned them in. I had fun in that class

Freshman algebra teacher was a rapper with actual music out but would deny it if you brought it up lol. Couldn’t teach to save his life.

I’ve actually had a couple, starting in elementary school.

My first move was during second grade, when my parents got divorced. I was naturally upset about this, but my new teacher added to my stress! I joined her class in January, and she was so rude! On my first day, she actually yelled at me in front of the class because I broke a pencil she lent me!

In freshman year, my Spanish class was divided in half, as the original class had almost forty students. The new teacher was about eighty, and never in a great mood. She favorited the native Spanish-speakers, although she was pretty nice to me. But, she would make us recite vocabulary for WEEKS (although it did help). During lunch, she fell off the stage and hurt her back (herniated disc). She was gone for months, although I’m not sure if she retired, as I transferred schools.

I’ve been mostly fortunate with most of my teachers, but I have a few standouts:

-My 3rd grade XC teacher. I didn’t know this word then, but she was the most gender discriminating person I had ever seen in my life. Whenever she would “ground” the class and delay our recess, she would ALWAYS let the girls go out 5 minutes earlier. Whenever a boy did something wrong, she would punish the whole group of boys and delay our recess. Whenever a girl did the same thing, she would ground the whole class, and you know what happens with that.

-My 7th grade science teacher. I didn’t think he was the worst, but he sent me out of the classroom for ten minutes without even telling me why. He claimed it was because I “blocked the door”.

-My 8th grade PE teacher. I absolutely DESPISE him. All he does is write stuff on a white board (sometimes when he’s extra lazy he would just change the day) that say stuff like “Do 25 pushups” and then texts on his phone for the rest of his period. He doesn’t do anything, and the students don’t do anything. You can literally skip 3 track laps right under his radar and he won’t lift his eyebrows. We did nothing, we got nowhere, and it was 50 minutes of each day for a year that I was never going to get back.

10th grade chemistry honors teacher. Rude and condescending. One time, she pulled out a piled of freshly finished quizzes, turned on the overhead, called out names, graded them for the entire class to see. One guy failed. I never did well in the class, and one time she convinced my parents that we needed to have a conference (I had an 83 in the class, around the median). She told them that I was “significantly below average”. My poor sophomore body got a whooping when I got back home.

Also, 10th grade Alg 2/Trig student teacher. She taught the entire second semester. Rude and impatient. One time, she picked on me for sleeping (I was tired after falling asleep at 4:30, and didn’t even remember putting my head down) when 5 other people were. She said I was lazy and called me out in front of the class. Another time, she took a point off a kid’s test for “wasting her time”. I reported her to my teacher. An eye for an eye. No regrets.

I’m fairly confident, to this day, that the teacher I had for Algebra in 1972 was teaching only to avoid Vietnam.

He was an angry man who didn’t like kids.

He never did anything to me personally, other than not really teach much or well. But to this day I do remember his anger, and the fistfight he had with one of the kids in the class-- a big kid, probably double his weight. I don’t remember how the fight ended, but the teacher only taught at my school that one year.

My daughter’s 3rd grade teacher is still teaching. She wins the award for the worst teacher ever.

My worst teacher was bad because she didn’t do anything at all, not because she did things wrong.

I had a pretty bad 6th grade English teacher who some of my friends went to the principal about, but I don’t really remember much. Also had a bad 7th grade science teacher (had him in 8th too but he got better) and he would get mad at the class, have a temper tantrum, then refuse to teach.

My worst teacher was someone I had for both high school chemistry and computer science. He seemed to be afraid to speak in public. He could talk to a single person with only a moderate amount of hesitation, but he couldn’t get very many sentences out in a lecture. We taught each other to program; this was the 80s and some kids had built kits at home and we had a book on BASIC. I’m not sure what the rest of the class did for chemistry; probably just goofed off. I bought a SAT Subject Test prep book and told the school administration I’d just sit outside and read the prep book during that period. (Small religious school; I don’t think many of the teachers had teaching certificates. He was related to one of the pastors and had taken some chemistry in college.)

My 6th grade teacher at the same school threw a boy against a wall and broke some bone the year my little sister had him. At least they replaced him after that.

My 10th grade Pre-Calc Honors teacher… she had such an attitude and you could just tell she didn’t like kids. She had mood swings everyday and was really difficult to approach. I think she had this “cold bitch” aura about her… Some thought she was cool, I didn’t dig her at all. Totally bombed that course lol!!

My worst teacher in high school taught history and he droned on and on. I complained to my mother who said she paid tuition for me to learn history from the man and not make social judgments because the teacher and I were not in a social relationship.

I discovered that it isn’t necessary to be entertained to learn. In college, I dropped a class in which I was the top student. Why? The instructor was fun, amusing, etc. but conveyed precious little information.

Learning is the key. Feed the brain first!

My honors Algebra 2 teacher I had in 10th grade was hands down my worst. She had a very heavy accent (Romanian, I believe) so the class couldn’t understand pretty much anything she said. She would put our test and average grades up on the board for everyone to see (without names, just our ID numbers) and at any one time about half of the class was failing. I’m surprised I made it out of that class with a B-.

Bump especially since the new year has started

It’s a toss up between my 9th grade Algebra and 10th grade Geometry teachers. Algebra teacher was the worst because all she did was talk about her boyfriends. Geometry teacher was just pure evil.

8th grade algebra took half of class to go over homework, half teaching with ONE problem as an example. Never gave demerits or detentions for anything, except the ONE time I forgot my book. My locker was 2 feet from the doorway. A girl got her test back and had an F and said a worse version of crap and the teacher did nothing. The guys I sat in front of shanked each other, stole from one another, and talked for the majority of almost every class. Didn’t help that I was bored almost to the point of tears in all but one of my classes because most were either ridiculously slow or material I covered in sixth grade in another state. I actually was retaking Algebra, because I got an 85 in seventh grade, which shows that I “didn’t understand the material.” smdh

Oh yeah, and my gym teacher makes tests with Excel spreadsheets. smdhsmigw.

My middle school P.E. teacher hated me. He was the soccer coach and health teacher and he instantly had a disliking for me. One time I was the last one out of the locker room and he saw me. He then went to the teacher of the class I had next (my spanish class, AKA one of my favorite classes with one of my favorite teachers) and told my Spanish teacher that I did not want to be in her class. Luckily, my Spanish teacher was awesome and laughed about it, but still…

I’m currently in my junior year and have a really terrible english teacher so far. She doesn’t do a proper job of teaching, is a hypocrite in telling people to speak louder, grades our assignments too hard, plays favorites, has an ill attitude most of the time, and is just unenthusiastic about teaching. Her personality also makes it hard to even approach her and ask her questions. Hope I don’t get stuck with her senior year.
