…when they can run Cross Country/Track instead?

Because Cross Country doesn’t leave scars that they can show off.

Some individuals belief that they need to suffer for their actions or mentality. In addition, some find that physical pain serves as a greater benefactor in comparison to mental pain. The process can serve as an alternative to acknowledging one’s problems. It enables one to possess control, something that humans in general strive to acquire.

Because they aren’t strong enough for suicide(s).

:D

Posts 2 and 4 are cold and not funny.

Sorry, VERY sensitive topic as I had a best friend who damn near committed suicide because she was cutting herself “for attention”.

Not funny at ALL.

Do NOT tell me to lighten up on this one. Do NOT tell me this was a joke. Cutting is a real and serious condition that is a mental condition and causes pain and suffering to the person afflicted and those around them. It can also be fatal.

Done here.

Just a question. Do most people cut themselves vertically or horizontally?

I’ve always thought that it was horizontally, but a person I know has these huge gashes that run up and down their wrist. He’s told me that his pen always accidentally cuts him…

You should confront him about that.

People that cut don’t cut their wrists normally.
Those who cut their wrists do superficial cuts. Unless they’re dead. There’s really no in between.

You have got to be the most whiny person on this board.

Look - Nobody cares about you and your experiences. Your life just sucks, okay? No need to share it with us and have a holier-than-thou attitude on every single subject.

^Saugus, there’s no denying that this is a serious topic.

And it just so happens that it’s a very personal issue for some people

Tip: You might want to run away.

^^ what Saugus said.

So block me.

Again, so block me.

And it’s a serious topic that NO ONE should make fun of. Oh and I love my life. It doesn’t suck. Holier-than-thou? How about sensitive about a serious issue? Sorry you’ve lived in a bubble and never had something happen to any of your friends. Or else you’d know how bad it hurts to have someone make fun of something VERY serious.

Block me therefore you don’t have to see any more of my posts. :)

Except that this thread really has very little to do with people cutting themselves.

Like I said, RoamingPigEyes or whatever his name is seems to pop and in every thread and give his unwelcome story about some tragic incident relating to the topic and berate everybody else as though he is godly and they are rodents.

It is EXTREMELY annoying.

Rant:

This is part of what’s wrong with today’s youth. In general. People make fun and light of VERY serious mental and physical issues. People say “that’s ■■■■■■■■” or “that’s gay” and make fun of things that don’t deserve to be made fun of.

People that cut are depressed. Very seriously depressed and instead of getting love, help, and support they are ostracized and pushed to the fringe of society. Depression is a serious condition and instead of people getting helped they are told “cheer up, emo kid.” Well guess what? People that are depressed don’t “cheer up”.

You have friends that are cutting. I promise. When YOU get a call because your best friend is in the ER because they cut a little too deep then I DARE you to go and try to tell someone else that they’re whining.

Maybe YOU should grow up and realize that it’s not whining when it hits very deep. Maybe YOU have a holier-than-thou attitude when you have the balls to tell me that I can’t share my life experiences so that MAYBE someone on here doesn’t have to go through what me and my friends have gone through. Something that thousands of teenagers and adults go through every day.

So guess what? I’m going to keep talking and keep sharing. Why? Because I can. It’s a free country and it’s a free board. Block me if you want, I’m sure you’re not the first and you won’t be the last. But don’t you DARE tell me that I don’t need to share it with you or accuse me of having a holier-than-thou attitude.

And for the last time. I have a vagina.

And pig doesn’t appear anywhere in my name.

You really didn’t need to rant. 100$ none of my friends will go to the hospital for cutting.

I suppose you’ve never heard of the drill suicides? Like running up and down a field with increasing distances?

Goodness knows everyone here is aware that suicide and cutting are serious issues. Not just you. It’s certain that many other posters besides you have had close contact with it. Not all of them choose to get up in arms about everything.

^^^^
Looks like we have a code blue here.

Saugus, again, you’re more than welcome to block the “attention whore”. No one is making you read my posts.

I don’t know what that has to do with the price of chickens in China. But yes, I do. Didn’t think of that if that is seriously what you meant. I apologize.

–
Look, I don’t care what any of you think- whether you think so or not. I have been here a long time and have just been continually fed up with the decreasing common sense that people have. It has come to a head these last few weeks.

I have that off my chest. I really don’t care what else is said.

Oh, and yes, I probably will regret some of this in the morning when I’m not on a pain-med cocktail. But not all of it. And I probably won’t apologize for the stuff that I didn’t mean.

Romani is entitled to expressing her opinions just as much as everyone else is. Sometimes, when one becomes intimate with an alternative individual, pain expressed amongst one gradually transforms into the pain of the associated friend. Individuals are negatively affected by serious issues on a daily basis.

One common perception held amongst the majority is avoidance. Some individuals don’t know how to deal with or converse about pain or negative events that have had some implication on an alternative individual’s life. While some individuals are enabled to express that pain openly by conveying their perception and affect by the issue, some deal with that pain through the process of avoidance and humor. By making the situation appear as something less serious, one doesn’t become as forced to directly cope with the pain through their attempt at incorporating aspects that degrade the seriousness of the event.

Individuals deal with pain and negative factors in alternative ways. One should be enabled to convey their ideas. Perhaps openly discussing the issue is how Romani recovers from certain negative aspects affiliated with her life.
