No, not really.

No, not really.

im both, and i constantly remind them, you cant spell Caucasian , without Asian phans…

well OP, if you’re going to recognize that asians are smarter on average (very possible) you may as well recognize the other racial differences that lead to asian men’s undesirable portrayal by the media. The fact is that 99.9% of asian men are very androgynous in appearance. For this reason, they aren’t desired by most women or held in high regard by most men, so casting them in non-stereotypical roles doesn’t make sense if one wants to attract viewers. Nobody wants to watch a movie with Jimmy Wang saving the world unless it’s a kung fu movie (which will appeal to a certain market).

By the U.S. media, you mean. I’m not sure if you’re aware, but in Asian cinema, Asian men are the LEADS. They kill the bad guys, they save the day, they get the chicks, and so forth.

You think Hong Kong cinema portrays its own actors the way Hollywood does to Asians? Please.

Here are some of the androgynous Asian leading men that Whiskey 7 is referring to.

[Takakura Ken (Japan)](http://ryubukandojo.files.■■■■■■■■■■■■■/2009/04/theyakuza_takakura_screen_shot1.jpg)

[Sonny Chiba (Japan)](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/de/Sonny_Chiba_The_Street_Fighter.JPG)

[Mifune Toshiro (Japan)](http://geraldpeary.com/interviews/mno/mifune.jpg)

[Chow Yun Fat (Hong Kong)](http://www.worldmovies.net/_uploads/images/movies/1125017449798_0.09120641551869635.gif)

[Tony Leung (Hong Kong)](http://i.i.ua/photo/images/pic/5/2/2509425_a77b8ddc.jpg)

[Sun Honglei (Mainland China)](http://www.cctv.com/english/special/meilanfang/20081111/images/1226390903809_1226390903809_r.jpg)

[Liu Ye (Mainland China)](<a href=“China Plus”>China Plus)

[Jang Dong Gun (South Korea)](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/77/Jang_Dong-gun_Portrait_Size.jpg)

You can find exceptions to anything on the internet. Hell, I could (very easily) find manly looking women on the internet.

But those guys are androgynous looking compared to the masculine actors of hollywood anyway, so you just supported my point.

of course not. i’ve seen infernal affairs. But my point was exclusive to euro-centric and similar cultures.

[YouTube - Ninja Say What?!](<a href=“Ninja Say What?! - YouTube”>Ninja Say What?! - YouTube)

Um, did you even bother to wikipedia any of those names? Those aren’t random actors; they are (or were) LEADING MEN of Asian cinema. I add the past tense because Mifune is deceased and Takakura is semi-retired.

Obviously you don’t think you’re wrong. Heck I don’t blame you; I don’t like admitting I’m wrong, either. But if you just stop and think about it for ONE SECOND, you’d realize that what you’re saying makes zero sense.

actually it makes perfect sense. sorry that your insecurity leads you to denial. I actually assumed that they were leading men in asian cinema. obviously the leading men of asian cinema are going to be much more manly looking than the average asian, especially those in action roles. but they still look androgynous compared to the likes of jason statham, bruce willis, clive owen, dominic purcell, etc.

Silly me, I forgot I was talking to a ■■■■■. Have a nice day.

lol, it’s ok buddy. just roid up, grow some facial hair (nm you probably can’t lol), and one day you might be viewed as a real man.

■■■■■■ aside, stuff like this doesn’t help the situation.

[Chinese companies ‘rent’ white foreigners - CNN.com](Chinese companies 'rent' white foreigners - CNN.com)

Zac Efron. Robert Pattinson.

Way bigger than Bruce Willis or Jason Statham (lol, what decade are you living in?).

Enough said.

i was comparing “manly” asians to manly whites. Not the most popular actors of each respective race. ****ing geek.

LOL. Censored swearing online.

Whiskey7: CollegeConfidential tough guy.

Those Asian actors that Fabrizio listed aren’t meathead action stars in the vein of anybody from the cast of “The Expendables”, so they’re not apt comparisons anyway.

CC doesn’t let you post profanity.

shouldn’t you be playing starcraft or something?

http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/2269/whitesvsasians.jpg

u mad?

@Whiskey: cool story bro.

Sigh, this is getting sad.

Childish swearing. And now, PG-rated racist insults?

I hope Whiskey7 feels better about himself soon so that he doesn’t have to go out of his way to bash another group of guys to make himself feel better.

In my experience, the only people who identify their race as a quality in and of itself are those who have very little else to offer as an individual.

Races have different people with different kinds of personality, don’t speak for a whole race people. Maybe its best if this thread DIES!
