You called it William and Mary Hall back in the day. Things are walkable but they have shuttles running at DFAS. Use them!
Will definitely use shuttles! Do you know what happened to the Hospitality House?
It is a dorm! Now called One Tribe Place. One Tribe Place | William & Mary
What??!!! So many changes!
I didnât go there FYI (wanted to but wasnât smart enough lol). I am a proud JMU Duke. But I have two WM kiddos. Welcome (back) to the Tribe!
Kaplan arena is William & Mary Hall.
Iâm an alum, too! Class of 1992. I lived in Monroe as a freshman and LOVED it and in Landrum basement as a sophomore. I lived in my sorority house junior & senior year.
Landrum basement 84-85 here!
I also lived in Landrum my junior year (95 or 96). At the time, it was all women- not sure if it has changed since then. I remember that was the year that I had a huge fight with my random roommate, but after the fight we became super close:)
I do not think there are any single sex dorms but there are some divided by floor. Landrum had a COMPLETE remodel a few years ago and is quite nice and sought after.
Thatâs good. I remember loving the location.
Does anyone know when financial aid letters typically come out for W&M?
âTypicallyâ and this cycle are two different things. I think the FAFSA cluster has pushed everything back. Sigh. In the past, they were pretty speedy.
I was hoping that they would have the information out by DFAS - but not sure if that will happen.
A new FAFSA error was noted a couple of days ago affecting about 1,000,000 applications. Iâm assuming aid letters wonât go out until WM has things finalized for all students.
Ugh!
Is anyone familiar with how generous W&M is at accepting AP and dual enrollment credits? I know some schools will give you the credits if you have a certain score (4/5) on your exam and others will only allow you to skip a pre-requsite, but not actually give you the credits. Does anyone have a kid that was able to transfer a lot of high school AP/dual enrollment credits to W&M? Also, does W&M charge a flat fee for tuition or by credit? Sorry, I know that I can probably look up some of this stuff online, but sometimes I find it faster to ask here. Unfortunately, the Facebook group will not allow you in until you commit.
Best way is to look here.
WM charges by the semester, not by the credit. But if you come in with enough credits, you can graduate early.
Ugh - I was disappointed that with Biology and Physics, they will not give you credit unless you get a 5 on the AP exam. Unfortunately, my daughter got a 4, which we thought was a good score (but I guess not good enough to get credit).
Did anyone here even get an email saying to check their portal? She got one for ED1. But for RD she didnât. We only knew to check because we looked. Just curious.
