I will be there in DC, probably standing next to my pastor.
Regarding finding hope in this troubled time one of my hopes is that this election will inspire an army of young women to get involved in politics at the local level. It will take time but that will be a game changer.
@katliamom: I Ilive in East Podunk or I would gladly join in. I’m sure some bright woman will figure out a way for males like me to show their support.
Everyone wearing something the same can create quite an effect. A long time ago (1978) I went to the ERA march. It was summer and we all wore white. It was gorgeous. (But not very effective, sadly.)
I know there are three or four buses from my area going to DC but I may participate in the Philadelphia one instead. I think my NYC daughter is planning to attend the DC one - lots of bus trips organized from East Coast cities. I think my Seattle son will attend one in his area. For Christmas he suggested that in lieu of a present we might donate to the ACLU or Planned Parenthood.
I like the idea of wearing the suffragette colors, white and purple. I’d love to wear a white winter coat and a purple scarf. Hmm, may have to hunt something down …
I made a small (3") quilt block of Hillary’s logo, did it in suffragette colors and made it into a pin. Wore it on my purple blazer on election day. Will be wearing it again at the DC march. If you see me, say hi!
5 days of solid rain up to the 20th. The 20th is only 40% so it is quite possible that the 21st will be an easy drizzle
or just cloudy. Fingers crossed. 44 degrees overall. Portland, OR
