Womens World Cup 2015

The two subs…

Great goal! Should take the talk of luck away. Will take it!

Exciting! Happy for the girls.

I am happy too. I think the better team won.

Now my wife gets to see the final in Vancouver!

This forces me to leave work early again tomorrow.

Never ever write off America, that’s what the commentator said and I agree absolutely.

Girls? They are not girls. They are better than men.

Was at the game. Haven’t heard any of the commentary yet, but it did seem we got lucky on the Morgan call and obviously we caught a break when Sasic missed the PK. One thing I noticed on the jumbotron as the players waited in the tunnel was that the Americans looked relaxed, the Germans nervous. I thought the Germans came out playing tight. I wonder if the fact that the German men won the 2014 World Cup placed extra pressure on the German women’s team.

And adding-the Lloyd->O’Hara goal was amazing!

I was offline during the game so am just getting to this. I agree @xiggi (did I just say that! ) I was thrilled that they had a spectacularly played goal to cement the win and move past the iffy penalty kick call. They really won the run of the play and it would have been slightly less satisfying to win on the PK alone.

The Japan-England game is on and my wife has met several English players this week. So she is rooting for England. Go England!

Just watched last night’s game before the England vs Japan Match.

Great lineup and great performance. Like the Italian men, we start slow and get better as a tourney goes on. Stone cold red on Johnston. Terrible call and changed the match; however, she had the touch of the match getting through two Germans.

Letting New Jersey Lloyd be Lloyd is fantastic and crazy how open Lloyd was for the pass. Germany was just a mess defensively, as they had more than enough players back.

Who does everyone want to see in the final?
A rematch of the final with Japan or England?

I’m hoping for England too, only because I want the USWNT to beat them on Independence Day weekend.

I am rooting England as well. They’re just sending booming balls up - I’d like more touch up front

I think England would be the easier opponent for the US and play into our strength better.

Bummer!

Better!

Interesting comment on NBC regarding head injuries. Soccer should borrow page from the … NFL! While safety in sports should be paramount, it is mostly laughable to point to the NFL or other uber violent sports in the U.S.

Fwiw, the Germans lacked common sense in not swiping the blood away from the player face. A bleeding player is not allowed on the field during play. They should extend that to include all contacts after the game.

England is indeed a far easier opponent than Japan.

OMG !!!

Wow!

Heartbreak for England… what a way to lose…
