Good post, jOHN ROSS. I think that’s why UVA people tend to do well in many different fields, because not only are we smart, we’re also team-players. Plus, we’re very social. Many people don’t realize that a big part of one’s job is getting along with your co-workers and working well with everyone, which is something you learn at UVA.

Jps, I’d say UMW is better than JMU because they have a more selective admissions process… this probably also comes from the fact that they were once the girls campus of UVA and also because they’re a smaller school. I second with Hebrew Hammer on this one.

…A more selective admissions process does NOT make a school better. Even though I do think MW is better than JMU. The only thing it does is make it so there are smarter students. MW, though, hardly has selective admissions. My friend with a 3.2 or so and pretty horrible grades this year got in honors (and hes been suspended, but for a dumb reason).

the reason why you might consider jmu to be less selective is
a. because they are muuch larger and therefore they have more spaces for the frosh class
b. because it is a state school and if you are from virginia then it is probably easier to get into jmu than umw

Mary Washington is a state school as well.
