****...World Cup

apparently it’s now either some racial slur, something about his mother or something about his sister being a prostitute…

i just want to know what it really was. i hope he tells the press what happened soon…

i have more respect for a man who defends for his mother/sister than a person who insults other people’s moms/sisters.

he’s not gonna sit there and take it the entire game. you cross the line, you get a swift head butt. no foolin around with this guy.

italians should realize victory isn’t so sweet when you play the devil’s advocate. maybe that was the plan all along. “this guy has a history of intolerance with verbal abuse. lets drive him crazy the entire match so he can’t play well”.

effing italians need to go to hell.

and look who has the World Cup now…looks like italy mentally outplayed france. you can cry all youwant, but its a part of the game and if zidane cant control his emotions, he has to face the devastating consequences

Zidane should have stomped that guy’s throat in. That headbutt wasnt nearly enough.

i wanted him to head-butt the ref. and then everyone else. just run around on a mad head-butting spree before security took him off…

basically, yeah

I was seriously laughing at that headbutt. Materazzi looked like he was shot. Zidane=beast

Golden Beast

Indeed…

I said it before…Zidane is the new Chuck Norris…

Zidane doesn’t simply hit people, he headbutts them.

Buffon was and is a far better Gk. Had kicks from the mark continued beyond five, all things equal… no doubt Italy. As I said look at technique in replays, a GK should always make themselves bigger when committing to the ball right or wrong guess. Barthez used one arm and kept the other in close reducing space to cover. His jumps on the field actually were no different than him standing there, he gains no advantage and becomes smaller as a GK when committing to the ball. That is why France’s back line was so good, they had to be.

“and look who has the World Cup now”

it’s just an empty cup. ;)

it wouldve been hilarious if zidane had grabbed the cup and ran away as he walked past it into the locker room…or just knocked it over

that’s not cool.

Im was just basically defending Barthez on the basis that you said that was some of the poorest guessing a keeper can make when Buffon dived in opposite directions on each of his takes. idk anything about keeper technique, nor do I plan too…but in those PK’s Buffon was no better than Barthez

Heh…Zidane won the Golden Ball…

Apparently the Italian player called him a “dirty terrorist.”

actually, the latest reports refute the claim that the Italian player called Zidane a terrorist.

No problem Ferst. PK have about a 95% probably of going in anyway. Portugal’s GK had the best I’ve ever seen performance angainst England in their kicks from the mark. Germany’s GK was also top notch.

It wasn’t so much as Barthez guessing wrong it was the form he used in his attempts, he became smaller, upper arm down on his body rather than up in the air. He actually might have deflected the first attempt had he put his arm up. I was frustrated with Barthez’s dives because I called the last two correctly… odd one way, even number kick the other way… how hard of thinking was that? PKs or kicks from the mark are a mental game as well for both the GK and the player taking the kick. Barthez became predictable… big mistake.

Ricardo is his name, and yes he is amazing at PKs. I remember watching in Euro 04 and seeing how brilliant he was in the PK situations. I guess he still has not lost the touch.
