Rats, I clicked on a link. Back to the ugly sidebar ads. Sigh.
What a beauty!

Resurrecting this thread because I just came across this wonderful outfit:
http://www.valentino.com/us/skirts-and-pants_cod42481104if.html?backToListing=5
I think I had something like that back in middle school! Butterfly appliqués, jeeeeeez…
And I’m sure you spent $4,590 on it, too.
That is delightfully dreadful!
Valentino does have some questionable outfits this year:
It looks like her underpants are visible through the bottom layer.
^^^And it’s only $16,000!
I remember embroidering those things on my jeans and “very cool” hand sewn jeans purse back in the day.
(Now I have trouble threading the need - not sure how embroidery would work for me).
Oh goodie my favorite thread is back! Those are priceless, or rather the prices!!! (
Does anyone understand this “get up” from the SAG awards this year?
And she’s barefoot? I don’t know which is worse!
The Met gala was interesting to see - lots of creative outfits and it’s fun to see everyone try something new. A few (Madonna) were not creative, just an excuse to be tacky.
And Lady Gaga forgot her pants.
But that was a given.
Yes!! I was going to post about the Met Gala!!! So much more interesting than the Oscars!! Truly some lovely gowns (and a few head-scratchers).
Just to comment on one, I didn’t care much for Beyonce’s gown but OMG she’s earned legendary status for that figure as shown off in that gown.
Here are some highlights from the Met Gala. I think they are all just too over the top. But Solange Knowles looks outright ridiculous:

Duh. It was a “political statement”! I thought it was a bunch of rubber bands and cut up garbage bags with boobs hanging out of them;
@VeryHappy I thought the jeans overalls were cute, but the price was ridiculous, bordering on offensive. The dress that, um, gosh I can’t remember her name, but it had 3500 hours of hand-embroidery on it with words from Dante Alighieri at the Met Gala this year (I LOVE looking at those dresses!). That was worth thousands just in the person-hours put into it. It was a work of art.
A pair of jeans with butterflies on them for $4500 is, I don’t know, for people who want to throw their money away, I guess. There’s nothing special or meaningful about it to justify the price.
If I’d seen that for $80 at H&M I’d have said it was super cute.
From the Met it was hard to pick a favorite, but I did love Emma Watson’s dress.
Twitter and Pinterest self-embed. Shhh… Totally cool dress. The train must be removable.
