@skieurope :))
I found the start simplicity of The Dress, to be quite a letdown; Kate’s was stunning. Doria was amazing - it had to be very hard for her to have the eyes of the world on her as she sat alone in the pew, the sole family member with not even a ‘plus one’ Ugh!
I liked the dress. I thought Kate’s wedding dress didn’t fit quite properly.
The dress wasn’t anything special, but I think it was appropriate to have a very simple dress when you’re wearing a complicated and super-long veil.
I was very impressed with the two young veil-wranglers. Those boys are only 7 years old!
I do feel bad for Doria, being there all alone – but it would have been even worse to be there with her ex-husband. And Charles was very gracious to both Meghan and Doria.
Kate’s wedding dress had padded hips to make her waist look even smaller.
I liked the fact that Meghan’s hair wasn’t perfect.
As I said I liked the sheer simplicity of the dress. Spot on for a second wedding, her age and the Royal wedding. It said elegant and mature rather than young and foofy or too sexy. Kudos to her taste.
Karen Spencer’s purple outfit for the win! Wow!
@Madison85 All of my dresses have ‘padded hips’ and yet my waist always appears larger - lol!
Oprah’s outfit was not flattering - where was Stedman?
Kitty Spencer looked AMAZING!
Camilla looked elegant and comfortable
Doria’s outfit was very appropriate; she looked elegant and ‘to the manor born’
Princess Anne looked as if she stopped by Goodwill on her way to the wedding
Zara Tindall - that color made her look very heavy - her face when the Preacher was preaching? Priceless!!!
It seems Meghan did not curtsy to the Queen?
So happy to see Prince Philip on his feet; amazing that, at 96, he walked unaided 6wks after the hip op!!!
Prince Charles is a true gentleman - the way he took Doria’s hand and brought her into the fold - very gallant!
It’s now time for the Markle sideshow to fade into oblivion and allow the new Duchess of Sussex and her mother, to settle into their rightful place in history!
The dress was serviceable. I liked Kate’s dress a whole lot more. Harry’s uniform was almost dour compared to William’s when he and Kate married. Nevertheless, Meghan still looked stunningly beautiful. They broke a ton of traditions with this ceremony, showing with obvious intent that this marriage would not be hamstrung by proticol or staid expectations. It will certainly be interesting watching them going forward. May their marriage be sweet and unhindered by scandal and sorrow. May they have beautiful children and know the joy of hearth and home surrounded by the love of family.
He’s not married to Oprah; Invitations to royal weddings never say “…and guest,” so he would have needed to score an invitation on his own.
I think the fact that she’s 7 months pregnant is what made her look heavy.
I’m glad we have someone knowledgeable about royal protocol!
Oprah’s dress was made yesterday because she realized her original choice was too white.
I also was disappointed in the simplicity of Meghan’s dress.
I saw a picture of Meghan’s mom at the wedding. She is gorgeous, and I see where Meghan got her beauty from.
Washington post review of dress
I loved the dress. Simple but very elegant. Reminded me of mine, minus the sleeves. I even had a veil very similar to hers, though mine also had pearls and appliqués throughout.
Loved the ceremony and B&G looked so happy!
Serena sure got a lot of face time!
“Zara Tindall - that color made her look very heavy. “
She’s very pregnant according to the commentators.
Yes, let’s be kind to Zara! I hope this pregnancy goes well for her as the last one ended in a miscarriage.
Brian and John did Canada proud! They are very sweet boys.
