Wow, Harry and Meghan!

“He’s not married to Oprah; Invitations to royal weddings never say “…and guest,” so he would have needed to score an invitation on his own.”

It’s hard for me to think he wouldn’t have scored his own invitation just out of good manners. Idris Elba’s had his latest flame with him.

I didn’t care for Oprah’s look much. It didn’t flatter her and the hat was too much.

Victoria Beckham always has a terrible case of RBS.

My best dressed guest award goes to the Clooneys with honorable mentions to Serena, Doria. Many in the Royal Family looked great. Charles and Camilla, Kate and William, the Queen.

YAY #teambeard. <:-P :x

I love the British tradition of having children as attendants.

Seconded. It’s timeless, and the bateau neckline put the emphasis on her lovely face, that stunning tiara and her gorgeous veil.

One of the best images of the morning, IMO, was of Meghan preparing to go down the aisle with one of the little Mulroney boys behind her flashing a gigantic grin with multiple missing teeth. He was so joyful.

I heard the dress is double silk, someone said probably two layers bonded. Thing is, what we see, via tv, is likely not the real appearance. I’d guess the silk had a light sheen to the texture. These dresses are always either far more gorgous in person or atrocious, lol. I’m voting former. The latter is those dresses on the red carpet that photograph better than they actually look, up close.

I think the look is very reminiscent of haute couture from the past, simple elegance. I loved that she had minimal jewelery. Diana’s dress didn’t stand the test of time. It feels silliy, now. Kate’s dreess, each time I see a pic, looks like off at the waist. To me, it seems long waisted.

A Brit comentator called the service “relevant.” In so many ways, yes.

And poor Zara looked like she couldn’t even find a comfortable position.

All in all, absolutely worth getting up early. Lovely.

Meghan dressed exactly as I hoped she would. She would have been criticized (even more than usual!) had she worn something embellished. She let her beauty and the tiara/veil do the talking.

Princess Charlotte is so adorable. I loved all the kids and was so happy they all behaved!

Doria was all-round amazing.

I loved the dress. I liked the floral dress Carey Mulligan wore. Amal looked great, as usual. Very love!y wedding!

I loved the dress. So simple and elegant.

William’s own wedding uniform reflected his honorary rank in the Irish Guards, (at the time, Colonel, maybe still.). Correct me if I’m wrong, but someone noted Harry has no current rank and technically shouldn’t (? )have worn a uniform.

Whatever. As long as they make themselves useful, I’m ok with it. I like the aspects of this wedding that reflect a changing world.

I like the dress more and more. At first I was disappointed that it was too simple, but it’s classic Meghan. I do love the veil. I really wish she could have gone one day, especially on her wedding, without stray hairs tucked behind her ears.

I read somewhere that the Queen granted ‘permission’ for Harry (and I’m guessing William) to wear the uniform of the chosen regiment. I’m not familiar with the specific regiment so don’t know if it a ceremonial military group or an active group or whether the regiment is in service to the Queen, which would make it appropriate for her to grant permission to wear the uniform

Let me first concede I’m being very catty. Meow, meow, meow!

Now to get on with it: The dress was too austere for my taste, but what bothered me most was that it didn’t seem well tailored. It bunched in places on the bodice as she moved–maybe it was a bra problem? Seemed like some boning to maintain the structure would have helped. I also didn’t like how the fabric was creased across her stomach, I guess from the long car ride. Her hair was messy under that gorgeous tiara, and her nose was shiny, and I can just imagine her lovely mom bringing both up during the car ride only to get an eyeroll from Meghan. Whoever made sure Harry and Will looked perfectly spiffy should have spent some time on the bride.

I got unreasonably annoyed that those adorable page boys had her veil (which was gorgeous) askew on the aisle during the ceremony. When my son marries royalty, I’ll have to make sure that doesn’t happen.

@MommaJ , I agree with what you are saying. The crease in the front of the dress was unattractive. At least her bouquet covered it. I really would have liked to seen her long lovely hair done up more with that dress. I did like her look, overall, better than Kate. I didn’t get to see the wedding in real time, so didn’t catch the eye roll. I LOVED the music she walked down the aisle to.

LOVED Meghan’s wedding dress.
LOVED Kate’s wedding dress
LOVED Kate’s wedding hair
DID NOT care for Meghan’s wedding hair but LOVED the veil

The “latest flame” is his fiancee. Baby steps.

The regiment is the Blues and Royals, which was Harry’s regiment when on active duty. I assume the permission to wear the uniform was needed because he’s not on active duty, but that’s outside of my realm of expertise.

Just saw her beautiful second dress as she is heading to second reception. She is beautiful.

Would have liked a more elaborate or well done hairdo under the gorgeous tiara and veil. Something with a little height, although the weight of all those diamonds probably weighed everything down:)

They both look great , a Stella McCartney dress. Love the Jaguar!

Love her getaway dress and the getaway car and Harry’s look as well. So classy and glamorous. The best of Hollywood and Royalty combined.

The whole event was conducted in a very tasteful yet contemporary fashion.

Loving the super glam second dress, Harry and the car. So elegant!

Ski, now I see he’s Captain General Royal Marines, recently took over that position (honorary, Iassume) from Phillip. Wonder if that affects the ability to wear some uniform today. Beyond my level of understanding.
