Wow, Harry and Meghan!

I’m swooning over the Stella McCartney reception dress. Lovely!

Re the corgis, it isn’t as if they would be homeless if the Queen passes away.

^^She might be afraid that someone would speak harshly to them, or feed them canned food. Her dogs were never punished and had run of the castles.

I really did not care for her dress at all. I thought it was bland. The reception dress was nicer, but only because it was a reception dress. I wouldn’t have cared for it as a wedding dress, either.

I think only the nearest and dearest of those who meet with Charles’ approval are at the smaller party. I read somewhere that Harry stood up to his dad and possibly the Queen over inviting Fergie. He got her invited to the wedding but not any of the parties. Apparently, he is close with her daughters and I had read that she tried to be good to him and William when Diana died, as an aunt should. If it wasn’t for her, however, my D would be named Sarah.

I did NOT like her dress. It looked like it was homemade by her granny.

I loved Oprah’s hat! So fabulous and definitely American looking.

Have you all seen this video of a young feminist Meghan Markle? It’s great.

I understand that the back of the reception dress was interesting, but I don’t see a picture anywhere.

My first impression of the wedding dress was disappointment. I thought it was plain. On reflection, it was elegant and appropriate for Meghan. Also loved her evening gown. Fab.

Chicago Tribune tweet perfect for CC:

“Northwestern graduate marrying British guy rn”

Loved Meghan’s tiara, but her hair style( lack of) drove me nuts. I really liked Amal Clooney’s dress, thought the style was very interesting. Ophrah Winfrey’s dress was just not a great choice, it was boring.

@doschicos More specifically, an unemployed British guy.

@Marian I grew up baptist , but I wasn’t shocked. He actually used to serve as a rector in Cincinnati and acquaintances had nothing but wonderful things to say about him. My step grandma was Episcopalian and her minister was similar.

Basically he showed the Brits a typical black church service: I LOVED IT!

Many have commented on her hair and I wonder if she didn’t have her personal hair stylist with her. The whole messy bun thing typically doesn’t work on our hair and she needed some sista products yesterday!

Granted I don’t know her at all, and she is a beautiful woman. Something about her just doesn’t sit right with me. I didn’t care for the evening dress either. And it’s not just because she thought a messy hairdo was appropriate under a priceless tiara and million foot long train.

Not “unemployed”, rather “trust fund dude”.

I’m going to see the musical, Cinderella, this afternoon. Have had the ticket for months!

CBS This Morning is having a story on about the cellist from the wedding and his family in a few minutes. What an amazing family!

I thought maybe it was deliberately plain to focus attention on the elaborate, ultra-long veil. A dress with lace or beading or a tulle skirt might have competed with the veil for attention.

And I thought the ultra-long veil was a good idea. Meghan had the burden of having to try to look as good as Kate without copying Kate. Putting the focus on the veil accomplished that.

Actually, I think she didn’t look quite as good as Kate, but Kate set a very, very high standard. Besides, Harry and Meghan are the beta couple. They aren’t supposed to overshadow William and Kate, who will be king and queen someday. They can be different – and they obviously are. But they’re not the stars of this show.

Both the hair stylist and makeup artist are hers and were flown in from CA according to comms on CNN. They named the stylist, but I didn’t catch the name. Does lots of stars, including Amal’s.

^^ that story on “CBS Sunday Morning” about the seven Kanneh-Mason siblings was very good. What amazingly talented musicians!
