Yale Class of 2028 Official Thread

This.

What it means for deferred without interview is they did make it past first cut. They don’t need any more information on the candidate so wouldn’t necessitate an interview now either, simply more time to see if they fit in the puzzle in the end.

Yeah, deferred people without the interview are fine as far as that goes.

But of course the underlying reality is until you are accepted, you are probably not getting accepted. Interviewed, not interviewed, deferred, applied originally RD, in all cases your odds are low. Which just is what it is.

Same here. So it does mean that no interview = did not make the first cut = unlikely to be admitted. I say unlikely because there may be exceptions but at this point I just want to focus on the higher probabilities. Removing this bookmark, good luck to everyone as we wait for RD

I don’t think no interview means anything, only uncertainty. But either way this whole process is so uncertain. Since Yale introduced a new phase where a senior reader initially looks through applications all it might mean is that if you’re an applicant who’s not that strong most likely you won’t get accepted.

If anybody doesn’t have mid year form in checklist?

Do you mean mid year report? We had it since day one on the checklist in pending status and now it is check marked green after mid year grades were submitted.

One i know doesn’t have it . Maybe it is glitch. Thank you.

did anyone get a likely letter from Yale? I heard they were coming out

There have been several sent. Scroll up and you’ll see some people celebrating their likelies.

Hi Avalia, if you are deferred, you case was already considered in front of the admissions committee. Yale must like you and be considering admitting you. However, they may want to wait a bit and see more, e.g., what other applicants they have in RD, or your most recent grades, etc. Just hang in there and wait. Keep an open mind about everything (e.g., about getting into Yale and other schools you have applied to.) I wish you good luck.
P.S. Since your case has been considered already, it is likely they’ll focus on giving interviews to applicants in RD. (I think some candidates do get in without an interview.)

What does this mean? My financial aid portal was updated today with “NOT REQUIRED - Student’s 2022 tax Return”

I am confused.

Edit: I was initially contacted by financial aid office and we sent details and I was pinged by IDOC today. No interview and no likely.

They are probably looking at your financial aid. Since you did not have to file the tax return, they updated as not required.

Didn’t they also ask for more info from you before? I think you may end up getting a likely letter or admission in March.

I have that “not required” item too, dated back to December, the same time the IDOCs were uploaded.

Anything shows up if clicking “Verification Statement of …”?

Can i ask about it. I don’t understand yale portal date. Since the date always is same and i think they don’t update. When i clicked verification statement in January, it went to idoc website now it goes to yale website or form comes out. Also students non file tax filer is same result.

It shows something like Page Empty… Do not what it is😓

In my phone.
If i use ipad, verification statement of household form comes out.
I don’t understand either.

Thank you!

Yes, they asked for additional information last week which we provided. These date changes are confusing, I checked because I received an IDOC email today. Previous email was directly from Yale aid office.
