@farmerboy20 I see. Thanks!
Yes, to clarify, only people who applied through Yale got this email.
The e-mail was from Yale-NUS, not Yale. The contents of mine were exactly what @farmerboy20 said
Oh, sorry, my bad! Pls ignore what I said and listen to @ynot12
It appears that the results will not be released today.
If it’s not today, when is it likely to be released?
I think either Friday or April 1. Is there a chance that it will come out on Ivy Day?
If it’s not today it can honestly be any other day this week I guess. Whether it’s Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. For the past few years it has always been by the 23rd of March. All we can do now is wait patiently! The anxiety is killing me though, especially when we’ve been expecting it to come out either last Friday or today.
@macaowllover My educated guess is tomorrow or Wednesday. Like I said, it seems highly unlikely that they’d release decisions on the same day as Yale in New Haven, especially considering they sent a whole email to differentiate their admissions decisions. So that probably takes out Thursday. If they released Friday, it’d still be Thursday night in the US so I don’t think that’s feasible either. But, that’s just my guess!! It could 100% be wrong.
And their email said it would be released “in the coming days.” I forget who, but someone said that last year’s email went out on a Tuesday and admissions decisions were released on that Friday. I think if it was April 1st maybe they wouldn’t have sent that email yet since they’ve sent it with only a few days to spare in the past.
The email for Yale & Yale-NUS application was sent; the FB 2020 account was set up; 23rd has passed; the most likely Friday and Monday have passed. NUS would kill me if decisions are not released on Tuesday or Wednesday.
@webuyourselves You’re totally right! I guess when you line up all the “evidence” like that it makes total sense that it’s coming out really really soon. Also, I checked out that FB page and it says that 3 posts were made today. Almost makes me think decisions are coming out tmrw since they’re doing “finishing touches” before letting people join that group??
What @farmerboy20 said is logical, hopefully the decisions are released either tomorrow or on Wednesday!
Yeah y’all ok mega evidence synthesis:
- Past years.
2016- 21st
2017- 22nd
2018-23rd
2019-22nd
- Yale-NUS email for applicants through Yale.
In 2019, this email was sent out on the 19th and results came out the 22nd. 3 day difference.
This year, the email was sent on the 20th.
- Facebook group
The 2020 Admitted Families FB group was created on the 8th of March. 7 students and admissions officers are in that group. No posts were made before today, and 3 posts were today!
-
I called the office a couple days ago and they told me that round 1 results are not impacted by the round 2 extension.
-
@surejen ‘s friends’ roommate said it was going to be this week.
-
Thursday (26th) and Friday (27th) Singapore time are unlikely due to Yale releasing results at this time and the fact that YNC really wants to differentiate themselves from Yale to people.
So, yes, I agree, tomorrow and Wednesday are the most likely.
Spinachbrain 211 is super smart!
Nice, thank you! I was so nervous about it releasing today I was constantly refreshing my portal haha.
Another day of waiting for tomorrow or Wed. Good luck!
So… we all know that sometimes you can find a backdoor on the college’s website to see if you were admitted. I might have just found one?
Try this: first log into your admissions portal, and then go to https://apply.yale-nus.edu.sg/register/kingfishersconnect. It says that it’s for admitted students only yet it shows my name and I can click a “submit” button. It might not mean anything, but we can still try it.
@ynot12 when I clicked on that link I was automatically logged in? What is that exactly?
@BTMmors I’m pretty sure that this link allows current students to register for virtual admitted students events. Again, it might not be indicative of anything, but it’s kinda weird that it’s available for prospective students?? Anyway, it’s more of a conspiracy, but I think it’s nice to indulge yourself while you’re waiting on decisions
@ynot12 I don’t understand how it works haha. So I logon to my own portal and what happens after that when I click on that link
