What’s the percentage of shortlisted students get accepted each year, friends?
@webuyourselves That’s what I’m wondering too. Usually acceptance rates as a whole are between 3 and 9 percent or something, so overall really selective. Idk about shortlisted applicants though.
I think we should j give up on it being out today, unless they plan on releasing them very late.
Maybe they’ll release on Ivy Day? Either way, we know it’s soon.
I heard it’s about 40 percent for those shortlisted, but I don’t know if it is an accurate stat.
Has anyone gotten anything? Are the people above just lying when they say they were denied? There’s a possibility that the decisions will be released from 7-9pm. Then again, there’s a possibility that it may be released on one of the days over the rest of this week.
I thought today’s IG would be a big “Welcome”, but turns out nothing. Hope we’ll get decisions soon. The AOs must be very busy finalizing something. Good luck everybody!
They just posted something on IG and I thought that it was admissions related. Damn.
I think we have to prepare ourselves that the admission results will only be out in 1st April. It will be a blessing if they decide to release it earlier. The virus has brought about plenty of disruption to normal life so a delay can be expected unfortunately.
This wait is killing. Truly hope they’re uploading the decisions and we’ll get ours very soon. A confirmed data would be much better for the applicants.
@lowjun Well, I’m gonna be a bit more optimistic. I think if it were really to be out that late, Yale wouldn’t have sent that email so early this year.
@spinachbrain211 correct me if I’m wrong but I thought that the email from yale did state that it’s not for yale-nus?
True. Why would Yale send that email to applicants if the decisions were to be sent on April 1.
I will wait till 7-9 pm SG time today.
Well, I even cannot believe decisions for yale-nus would be released after the Yale campus decisions.
@lowjun I’m not sure— I didn’t personally get that email, but I remember that it’s specifically for Yale NUS? Correct me if I’m wrong too.
wait just to make sure, you guys are talking about the Yale NUS email right? I dont think i received any yale (New Haven) emails recently…
According to @ynot12 and @Hit123, the email was from Yale University, but regarding the admissions decisions of Yale NUS. They applied to YNC through the Yale common app.
Maybe the results will be released 3 working days from the yale email? So that will make it Wed. Just speculating haha
Actually I got the same email and it was from Yale-NUS Admissions and Financial Aid. Sent Friday (3/20) at 12:45pm Singapore time.
@farmerboy20 What? You got an email from Yale-NUS?
@BTMmors Yes! I believe someone already quoted part of it but it basically asserted the difference between Yale College (New Haven) and Yale-NUS (Singapore) admissions, saying that Yale College will release decisions on 3/26. Regarding Yale-NUS, it says: “ Thank you for your application to Yale-NUS College, the first liberal arts college in Singapore. The Yale-NUS admissions committee is completing its review of applications and will soon release admission decisions. In the coming days, you will receive an e-mail informing you that your Yale-NUS admission decision is available online through your personal application portal.”
If anything, I don’t think they’ll release decisions on 3/26 since that’s when Yale (New Haven) does theirs. It would create too much confusion and make it difficult for them to seem separate.
I applied through Yale (New Haven) by the way so I’m not sure if everyone gets this email or if it’s only those who shared their application.
