To get this thread going, let’s share what art areas are you/your kids applying for. So curious to see
And remember: the applications are closing today!
My kid applied for creative nonfiction. Do you know when they will get notifications?
The announcements are formally made for everyone at the end of November per YoungArts. The winners will be notified by email around the same time I think. Award winners with distinction will also receive a follow-up phone call. In the past, it looks like those phone calls were going out within a week before the official list publication online.
Per YoungArts, this year:
November 18 - phone call notifications begin for Winners with Distinction
November 24 - all other winners are notified by email and the list of all winners gets published online.
We are just weeks away. Who is excited? Or terrified? Or a bit of both?
Still no one received email or phone call from YoungArts?
Not here. But I have read on another social an announcement from a dancer who received a call today.
Great, do you have a link for that?
It was Reddit. Found through Google search. I hope that people will start sharing here too soon with whatever news or other info they have.
That was fake, they said they were ■■■■■■■■ at the end of the post. I don’t think anyone got called yesterday to be honest because someone would’ve posted it by now.
I saw this on reddit:
Dear
Congratulations! You have been named a
2026 YoungArts Award Winner with Distinction in Writing / Fiction.
YoungArts is more than an award-it’s a chance to grow as an artist. From here on, we will strive to support you with creative and professional development opportunities throughout your artistic career. National YoungArts Week
@GuitaV And I saw two more people announced that they won jazz/piano and jazz / Sax tenor on instagram.
Saw that too! So exciting!
Saw a few more people said they got the emails in Reddit.
Did anyone say they received an email for classical/piano or classical composition?
They began emailing for Theater/Musical today 11/19
Did anyone got notifications about voice (classical or popular)?

Sounds like YoungArts did it differently this year. They batch emailed all winners with distinction last week (and called too). Now we are all waiting on regular winners to be announced next week on Monday. Good luck!
And the results are out:
