<p>I just finished submitting my artwork for Region-at-Large. It was such a hassle. On the day I was supposed to submit my artwork (the last day of RAL) my Lap Top caught a virus and went haywire (I know, what are the odds?). Luckily I was able to explain to them that I wasn’t able to submit my work on that day and they gave me an extra day to submit my work. I’m so happy, I was expecting them to flat out reject me. Hopefully I can with a gold key. I’m really nervous, I’m not sure my artwork is as great as the ones in the gallery, but it is my best.</p>
<p>Art seems pretty subjective, like your judge could think it’s a mediocre piece with little meaning or love the technique and totally understand the purpose/symbols or something. I guess it’s the same with writing but art is probably judged with more preference and opinion</p>

<p>Yesterday, one of my friends informed me that she received an email saying that she won the gold key award for fashion design. </p>
<p>So are results out for everyone?</p>
<p>*I read the artandwriting website, and it says that results will only be emailed to winners.</p>
<p>Does this mean that I lost? (I submitted for art/ drawing.)</p>
<p>also, do only Gold Key winners move on to Nationals?</p>

<p>I got another reply from a different friend: he came in the top 10% as well.</p>

I heard RAL results come out in March…</p>

<p>The results for where I submitted are not out yet. I submitted my final work on friday (our due day). My art teacher is part of the committee that does work, she saw two of my friends pieces win a gold key. I haven’t heard anything but I’m hopeful. I submitted two portfolio’s and 8 individual pieces… hopefully something makes it into the show.</p>
<p>I wish they divided regions by state and not by school. RALs can only get Gold Keys. Anything less than that isn’t acknowledged -___-</p>

<p>I think everyone is going to get notified via email also I heard RAL doesn’t come out until March but I could be wrong</p>
<p>@Woahgosh: Yeah, I hope its good news, they say that they don’t send out emails to people that don’t win though. They must announce winners soon right? I mean, the regional award ceremonies are in early February.</p>
