Weird how they would legit just offer admission to one person it seems. I thought they did it in waves
They may have made an early offer to this exceptional applicant from the waitlist, perhaps due to a rare background they want to enroll. As others got the answer from the admissions office, Princetonâs waitlist admission waves could just be starting later.
Consensus seems to be that was not legit
It is already near the end of May. It is likely that decisions are already made for most of the waitlist candidates. Those who got off the waitlist, if any, just did not post.
My D has committed to a school with late starting date. I am going to take advantage of the late starting date and plan a vacation for her.
Everyoneâs well aware that opinions posted here are just speculative- including yours. No one really knows whatâs going on.
Princeton has yet to announce the wait-list applicants. Hopefully tomorrow, if not next week as they emailed me 3 weeks back that itâs going to be few weeks before they make decisions.
DD just got the call this morning. SHEâS IN!!!
congrats!!! what state and major?
Georgia. Applied as a philosophy major but also considering history, politicsâŠ
Did she get a letter or update or her portal?
Phone call first, then letter and update in portal. Financial aid offer coming by end of day. She has until Thursday to accept.
It shows that you registered your profile 2 hours ago to post this information. Why?
Because until now I was just reading these threads without posting (you donât need to log in to read). And I thought you all might like to know that there is movement now.
Did she submit a LOCI?
Congratulations to her! Also, it was very kind of you to create an account to tell it to us. Thanks.
She submitted a LOCI but not until several weeks after Ivy Day - she was out of the country with no laptop and limited internet - not ideal for writing something so important! The late submission had worried her, but I guess it didnât matter :). We really had no idea what we were doing - no one in our family has ever gone to an Ivy and we donât have a college counselor (public school counselors not helpful). We have felt very out of our league in all of this!
She called the admissions office last week and was told something similar to what others have heard (vague, decisions being made next few weeks, etc.).
Congratulations and thank you for sharing this here. For all of waiting there is still hope
Why do you say there is hope. If they have taken 20-60 folks off the wait-list would they not call all of them the same day and get done with it?
What time did she get the call?
Could be. But also they may be calling some throughout this week. Just opinion and reason I hold on to hope is closed email hasnt hit yet
