Yes, it is very competitive. He still has a chance. Last year they gave about 5,000 deferrals, about 1,200 waiting for the final decisions, 800 of them get into OSU in the final round. Good luck to your son!

Thanks for the information.

Heartbroken to say the least! Was really hoping it would be different. 3.57 GPA, 1150 SAT, lots of activities, great recommendations. It’s just sad.
still waiting?
“evaluation” is my lucky word today, still waiting…
how much correlation between application date and response time is there? if you apply earlier will you hear back earlier?
@spearbin I applied in September and still haven’t heard
@spearbin there is zero correlation between application date and response date. We’re still waiting and my daughter applied on 9/12.
btw how do you know these numbers. What did you mean by “1200 waiting for the final decision” so 800 out of 5000 got in or 800 out of 1200? Thanks!
what is your major? Some says that admission is blind to majors when making decisions, but I don’t believe it.
Does anyone hear a decision for submitting app after Nov 1?
If we don’t hear today, will we have to wait until January?
