If we know how many applied EA before Nov 1, the admission rate of 50% gives us a better estimate.
As of 11/18 (the earliest report I thought to save), there were 38,182 applications (compared to 37,654 same time prior year). I’d imagine most of those were EA. So roughly 38,000 EA applications.
I was deferred on Friday based on this report what would you say are my chances?
If there are 34,000 of EAs this year, 50% renders 17,000 admitted, minus 12,500 already in, we still have 4,500 to go.
@PAbuck I don’t know of any stats related to deferrals. Sorry.
@gobuckeyeoc But where do you get 34,000 EA applications? Seems to me it was closer to 38,000. So 50% of 38,000 is 19,000, less the 12,500 already admitted suggests another 6,500. So, again, my best guess is another 5,000-7,000 EA acceptances.
38,000 as of Nov 18, EA’s deadline is Nov 1. It is reasonable to believe 2,000 applicants each week since this is peak time. I estimate 34,000 as of Nov 1 for all EAs.

From what I gather - and my son is OOS and still waiting for a decision as well - tOSU has until 1/31 to notify applicants who applied EA. That is a LOOOOONNNNNG wait!

@klineow I believe someone mentioned that after last week they were beginning to release every friday. I have no idea how accurate that was, but it was mentioned so I thought I would also mention it
according to collegedata.com, osu admitted 62% at early action, so at Nov,1 if we have 34,000 for early action then 34000x0.62=21,080. so still 8,500 left for early action applicants, only 4,000 left for rd.
also I read last year decision in this site, osu release results after Dec 21, they released at Jan 18,Jan 25, then Jan 31. so next releasing will be Jan 17, 24, 31. I believe.
My son is in state, 3.67 unweighed, 3.99 weighed GPA with 35 ACT, applied on oct, 28. still waiting. I hope they just release result specific one day, it is torture.
