Admissions Discussion/Decisions - Class of 2024

He had to petition for the direct admit but went to visit and knew it was the school for him. Didn’t visit OSU as we were waiting to see if he got in first as we are on the east coast

Yeah is impressive presentation they give for sure. I worry a little about the size of Kelley but is very solid school.

Next wave coming out?

ACCEPTED!!! JUST GOT IN IT RIGHT NOW
3.9 UW
4.2 W
33 ACT

Congrats!

Go bucks!!

Our OOS DD was admitted to Engineering around mid-November. She is curious when scholarship offers/information will be sent? I think it may be mid January, but saw that some already received. Does anyone have any insight into the timing of the National Buckeye Scholarship and similar? Thank you in advance.

In same situation re business OOS…my understanding is Jan/Feb - @ssshen

@ssshen, my son was accepted mid November as well. He already received a letter stating that he received the National Buckeye Scholarship. What are your daughters stats? If they are high enough, I’m not sure why one would be awarded it already and others have not. Since my son heard already, I don’t think there is a set time as to when they go out.

She is engineering- 4.2 GPA, 1480 SAT, school doesn’t rank, 8 APs (3 through Junior year) with the remainder of classes Honors, athlete and editor of the yearbook.

@ssshen There is a thread discussing scholarships here…

Seems like very few have heard yet. Hoping there’s more to come.

The 12/30 admissions report is out. Nothing new.

date of report. 2019. 2020
11/18/19. 5,225. 5,441
11/25/19. 5,231. 7,503
12/2/19. 5,236. 7,503
12/9/19. 5,237. 7,503
12/16/19. 11,136. 12,502
12/23/19. 11,136. 12,502
12/30/19. 11,138. 12,502

Happy New Year!

Can you explain what this means? Thanks

@realhousewifeOH Sure.
OSU publishes weekly admissions reports, showing detailed data on the admissions process. It’s published every Monday. Worth taking a look.

My post above just summarizes the number of acceptances in each weekly report, for the fall applications to the Columbus campus, compared to same date prior year. So, there have been 12,502 acceptances thru 12/30, for fall 2020; compared to 11,138 thru 12/30 for fall 2019 (same time last year). I find it most useful in showing when the acceptances are coming out (retrospectively).

My numbers are from the “Weekly Report”, p. 11 of 15.

Also good to know that thru the end of January last year (end of EA round) there were just over 18,000 acceptances, and thru the full admissions cycle, there were over 25,000 acceptances. So, there are still a lot of acceptances to come.

So there’s still 6000 EA acceptances to go approx?

@Jsham24
Yes, I would guess 5-7,000 more EA acceptances to come.
Someone earlier made a case for being as low as 4,000 more, but I guess we’ll see.

Thanks for the explanation!

When do we expect the next wave of decisions to be released?

I would assume the 10th or 17th.
