Hello!
I’m a first year applicant to OSU and I applied EA, but my application status on Buckeyelink is still listed as “Evaluation.” Is this bad?
I’ve seen tons of other people on here as having received their decision already? What does this mean for me? Will I be deferred?
Does OSU just defer all applicants if they don’t get to them by the last January date? I’m very concerned now.
I also applied for the Morrill Scholarship.

Hi! Has anybody received National Buckeye? If so, what date did you receive it? I was accepted on 11/16 but still no word on scholarship money.
Same, no word re Buckeye - accepted same date as you…applied late August…I’m finance/business major, not sure if timing is major related.
Daughter still in “Evaluation.”
I know they have releases in Jan.
Does OSU consider weighted or unweighted GPA? Stats below - any thoughts on odds welcome.

@MSiebert 0 i think both re UW and weighted GPA…focused on rank, ACT looks good, maybe later notice given that she’s close to averages of the class.
@MSiebert typically UW GPA is a primary consideration, but the W GPA speaks to rigor of courses taken. But OSU (and all others) consider just how rigorous a HS really is. Some are more than others. And that’s where class rank comes in.
What is your daughter’s intended major? Her ACT is very strong. Does your HS have Naviance and enough data for OSU? At our HS your daughter would be well within the range of those routinely accepted. Only concern would be if she is shooting for computer science; very competitive. But I still think she’s be in range. There are still several thousand more acceptances to go. I think her odds a very good.
My daughter is also worried about the “delay,” as most of her friends have already heard. I called the admissions department, and was told that the process is random, and one should not assume anything by the passage of time. She also said that all applicants who submitted a complete application by the Early Action deadline would hear by the end of January (and for out of state kids hoping to hear about the National Buckeye Scholarship, that would come out by the end of February).
Anyone happen to know if there is another wave possibily coming out today?
I don’t know, but the buckeyelink portal changed and there are a bunch of new buttons.
What are the new buttons?
Stuff relating to payments, orientation and things like that. Pretty sure this just changed in the last day or two, and the most popular now links, including application status are no longer listed first. it is still in evaluation, though, so probably it was just a general change to the page format? Son is a RD applicant, so it is possible that EA people already had these updates.
We are EA still in evaluation, and our buttons just changed recently too.
Are you talking about changes to the format once you’re logged in?
I am talking about https://buckeyelink.osu.edu - son’s info is auto logged in. So I am not sure if it changed for everyone, but it seems like it did.
S20 is an EA who heard a while ago. Will have him check his portal. The downside of hearing so quickly (sorry if that is obnoxious) is now it feels like we have to watch paint dry for the next 3 months. A portal change is exciting in this one-and-done household. (I know, I know…boo-hoo for us).
S20 says nothing at all has changed about his portal view. Back to watching paint dry.
I was just accepted, new wave of decisions coming out now!
Son is also EA. Seems like they did an update for the new year for everyone, including enrolled students so unfortunately I don’t think it means anything for us yet.
