Does anyone know when the admission decision emails are sent out?
For deferred students will we get a decision through portal still, or mail only? And what’s chances of being accepted after deferred?
Sorry if this has been answered before, but what is the difference between Buckeye Bound and admitted student days? Is there an advantage to one vs the other?
from what i read the buckeye bound day is from 9-430 and has break out sessions and is more involved an experience, whereas admitted student day is from 1-3:45, more like a regular info session and tour just for admitted students. I am thinking we will do a Buckeye day to really be able to get a better feel of the dorms, academics, etc
@koz625 hang in there. Engineering apps up 20% this year at OSU, and was already quite competitive. Is a national trend…engineering majors grow more popular each year.
Still in evaluation…
housing doesn’t open until March.
does anyone know if there are still national buckeye scholarships being offered? i haven’t gotten my letter yet but I know im admitted. im just a bit anxious about everything
There’s a scholarship discussion thread here…

Only a couple of people have reported getting the National Buckeye scholarship. Seems like they haven’t yet given out most of the scholarships.

OOS Son deferred for Engineering (Aerospace); but no worries already accepted to Penn State and CU Boulder Aerospace Engineering. wGPA 4.2, SAT 1250; 3 AP (4, 4, 4) 12 Honors, 4 year Varsity Ice Hockey (All Division); 3 year varsity Baseball (will be 4 in Spring), 4 years band, many EC’s and volunteer hours. NHS, Math Honors, French Honors. Good luck to all!
I believe this week’s release includes the last of the EA. Thought I would update momzilla2d’s reporting and fully crediting her for guiding us to this information:
The 2/3 admissions report is out. Looks like there were ~1,600 acceptances (versus ~1,000 last year) in the week. If OSU gives the same number of acceptances (25,605) as in 2019 there would only be 4,600 regular admission decisions. Good luck to those deferred.

Can someone PLEASE answer this?? How does the deferred process work?
How many apply for regular decision? And do people deferred have a better chance of being admitted?
My S applied for for regular decision. 27 ACT, 1330 SAT, 3.82 W GPA.
Major : Education and Human Ecology, Middle Childhood Education
Any idea for his chance ? Thanks.
if you have questions about deferment your best bet is probably to just call admissions. i haven’t seen a lot of replies so most people are probably in the dark about it too. plus admissions will probably give you the most accurate info. good luck to everyone!
Also, to those questioning deferment, the Class of 2023 Admission discussion here might be a good place to look to see what transpired last year. It may be quite a search in the posts but perhaps starting with the February, 2019 posts forward. Just a suggestion.
I agree with roamingoff. I spoke to admissions yesterday, received detailed answers I needed and was asked if I had any other questions. They are quite willing to help.
