Any idea when RD decisions are going to start coming out?
@Sportymom41 tOSU does not have direct admit to Nursing. Everyone spends their first year doing prerequisites and then has to apply to Nursing. It is highly competitive. Those accepted will then start Nursing their sophomore year. If he is accepted, he would still graduate in 2024.
Does anyone know the difference between “Visit Fisher Day” versus “Buckeye Bound”? My son received an email invite yesterday to “Visit Fisher Day” being held only on 2/29 and I know there is a “Buckeye Bound” session that day too and just unsure which one would better fit our needs since we are OOS and want to make our visit worth the trip. He hasn’t received any emails regarding “Buckeye Bound” so we have been holding off paying the $100 nonrefundable fee to accept offer of admission (a bunch of people stated that they called admissions and were told that once you pay/accept, you’re not invited to Buckeye Bound…meaning it’s used to convince students to accept). But I also realize that housing is emailed to students in March in the order of acceptance fees, so I’m trying to figure this out sooner than later.
We attended a Scarlet & Gray Day with a Fisher breakout session last year, so perhaps the “Visit Fisher Day” (which is from 7:45am - 2pm) is too similar to that? Bringing me back to: should we just wait for an invite to Buckeye Bound? Although as I’m typing this I’m answering my own question in that I should probably just call admissions and see about this. But if anyone happens to have info I would really appreciate it!
@kittycat1203 I called a while back and was given wrong information (at least based on what other people were told when they called). I suspect that for people who have already done the standard visit/tour, then Buckeye Bound might be somewhat of a repeat? My son got an invite to the visit fisher day (2/29) but we have a basketball conflict, so I think we are going to do one of the admitted students visits to Fisher that you can schedule for Mondays or Fridays. It would be great if all of this info was in a central location on the website, because it’s felt rather cryptic!
@rbc2018 Yes exactly…there is nothing on OSU’s website regarding “Buckeye Bound.” We are only aware of it from this forum. I’ll post any info we get after calling admissions.
interesting…i signed up for buckeye bound in march and didnt get the fisher day invite…i have basketball too which makes it tough…would like in depth fisher visit, which buckeye bound has 2-3 break out sessions available with fisher, as well as a stadium tour
to anyone who has been admitted and is waiting for buckeye bound email : i called the admissions office about accessing registration without having to wait and she told me you can get access it by going to scarletandgray.osu.edu and use the code bound20 : )
Thank you for the info on Buckeye Bound!
Thank you!

We called Fisher Admissions Office today and asked about the difference between “Visit Fisher Day” and “Buckeye Bound” and we decided to stick with our “Visit Fisher Day.” From what they described, Buckeye Bound sounds more like an overview of the university as a whole (detailed though since it’s a full-day visit) but “Visit Fisher Day” definitely more in-depth for the business school. Was hoping to see a dorm, but from the link to Buckeye Bound that @roamingoff provided above, it looks like no dorm tour there either.
@kittycat1203 I noticed on the buckeye bound registration page there is a self-guided tour of dorms available during the afternoon sessions.
My daughter and husband did a visit in august info session/tour…should we now do an admitted student day or buckeye bound day? Can’t go the one in feb so would have to wait till march 27 to do the buckeye bound, but there are more options earlier for admitted student days…
My D19 (now a Buckeye) couldn’t make a Buckeye Bound day last year, so did an admitted student day instead. It was nothing more than the typical info session and tour. She had not visited before application, so it was enough for her to make a decision. But IMO the Buckeye Bound day is better geared toward admitted students.
Hmmm we signed up for Buckeye Bound on 2/29, and probably would’ve preferred the Fisher Day. Wonder if we should try to switch or stick with it.
Same re fisher day…
@NYC2018nyc We have called admissions department a few times and they were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Give them a call and they can outline the differences for you in the two events and let you know if even possible to switch at this point. There was a number online that was for Fisher Admissions.
Can someone chance me for regular decision (Major: Biology)?

Reinforcing the comments made above about the professionalism and helpfulness of the OSU Admissions staff.
Though the overall admissions process and the waiting can seem stressful, every interaction we have had with the Ohio State Admissions team has been courteous, efficient, expert, excellent. From application reviewers to operations staff to students answering the phone, we have had nothing but positive interactions.
Cut these people some slack. They are doing excellent work and showing grace under pressure.
They have done a superb job in not only helping parents and applicants navigate and endure an arduous process but also representing their great research university in a positive way that makes the applicant want to choose Ohio State over other top universities. We are grateful.
Does anyone know anything about the Buckeye Affordability Grant? We are in state and qualify for a smaller Pell Grant, and because of that it seems like OSU will offer us the remainder of tuition. I haven’t found any info googling or on other threads besides the basics.
