I’m curious about merit money as well. I’m kind of thinking since we were deferred at first we won’t get any?? my kid’s first choice right now is CU Boulder, I would love him to explore other choices especially if he gets some money (he has gotten money at other schools, but he doesn’t want to go to them so far…)
How to find out whether you are directly admitted to Fisher College of Business? It reads “you will be enrolled in Business” on my acceptance letter.
I’m international btw.
D just got accepted - was originally deferred from EA:
OOS
GPA - 4.21
APs - 12 I think
SAT - 1430
ECs: Lots - 11 Varsity letters across 3 sports, volunteering, related internship, multiple honor societies, Journalism editor, video producer for school, etc.
Good luck to all that are still waiting!
Unfortunately Boulder offered zero merit money to my son. Good luck!
The letter reads “We are honored to inform you of your direct admission to the Fisher College of Business…”. Good luck!
@furbina1 yes we know boulder will give no money that’s why I’m curious of Ohio state will…unfortunate that boulder doesn’t give any…
Does anyone know what percent of applicants who initially get deferred actually wind up getting accepted?
@furbina1 did it say “direct admit” in your acceptance email or did you have to wait for the packet in the mail?
@mcc1970 neither,I have to wait for the the emailed Fisher acceptance letter bc I’m international. My osu decision just came out so I believe it definitely takes a while to process fisher decision.
@excellentee then where did you see “you will be enrolled in business”?
@mcc1970 International students receive anothet separate acceptance letter sent from international admission office. I saw “you will be enrolled in Business” there
Did anyone apply to the industrial design major? If yes, did anyone hear if they got into that major?? Thanks.
What is the process now for decision releases? Did anyone speak with admissions if there will be little waves each Friday or still every couple of Fridays? I heard some deferred students hear back last Friday and I’m still waiting and I was also deferred.
My D was also deferred. Does she need to send her Senior year 1st semester grades?
Yes I would, especially if it shows their GPA or class rank went up. My daughter was EA and was accepted on January 31st. We sent her updated transcripts from the high school and community college as soon as they posted.
Did you notice if the portal showed the most recent date of the updated transcript? Our school sent ours but I noticed it’s still showing the transcript date from October. I may need to call to confirm that they received it.
@koobie2020
I’m just wondering if it’s required. My D does have 2 schools that require the new transcript but I can’t find anything that specifically says OSU needs to have it in order to make a final decision. She did well Q1 but early Q2 she started having some medical issues and her grades dropped. This is an issue she had last year as well. So it’s not like we have anywhere to explain here’s her new grades but q2 dropped grades are not her fault. They’ll just see the grades and that’s it.
Anyone who got in after being deferred did you send In the first semester grades? Just wondering because when we talked to several people in admissions and I. Several emails they all said they didn’t need any further information to make decisions. In fact is seemed as though they didn’t want any other info?
OSU does not require an updated transcript per our GC.
