Admissions Discussion/Decisions - Class of 2024

I would assume merit and need-based aid can come in separate communications. My s20’s (instate) merit came via snail mail and we did not complete a FAFSA.

The only scholarship I received from OSU has been the “BUPKIS” scholarship. I was accepted in the first wave back in November and for the past four months, I have been anxiously waiting. I have received lots of postcards and emails about attending admitted days or committing to the school. I even received a $500 credit in order to attend one of the admitted day events. But without any form of Merit, it makes zero sense to even go to one of these events. A little disappointing, but excited to probably choose between UGA or UF

@Pelorider we received merit scholarship info in its own letter.

What information about scholarships has anyone received? We keep getting emails and postcards saying it’s coming but has yet to arrive.

Someone on facebook said they called Admissions on Friday and were told the last of the merit offers were mailed that day - Friday, Feb 28th. FWIW, not necessarily a reliable source.

Anyone know if you can call or email about the status of your Morrill Scholarship application? If the source is right about the last round merit offers going out, does that include Morrill…? I was recently just accepted about a week and a half ago, everything is moving very quickly.

@Setter4life Very funny! So far, I received the same “Bupkis” award.

D20 received a merit offer today. National Buckeye, $13,500/year. She was accepted in the 1st round in Nov. OOS/1470 SAT/ 3.9 gpa/school doesn’t rank but likely top 15%. No mention of Trustees, Provost or Maximus. But it’s better than her sister was offered last year.

@momzilla2D Congratulations to you and your daughter. You have been keeping many of us on our toes with all your informative postings. Very well deserved!

My daughter received the National Buckeye Scholarship today via snail mail.
We are OOS from MA. We are very excited and extremely relieved!
She was admitted January 17th, pre-nursing.
Good luck to all of those who haven’t heard yet!

Son received National Buckeye Scholarship today (mail hasn’t come yet, but it is now reflected in Buckeyelink). OOS Virginia. Direct admit to Fisher. Good luck to all!

Just received National Buckeye Scholarship, admitted OOS (IL) on Jan 19 for LAS with intent on CIS
3.4/3.9 GPA
1340/29 SAT/ACT
Good luck to all my fellow out of staters!

@momzilla2D - Could you please continue to post acceptance data on weekly basis until end of March? By the way, would you mind letting us know the website for data source? Thank you.

@momzilla2D @smgins - Thanks very much for your information. It is good to know that OSU is still admitting small amount of students on weekly basis until end of March. Hope is still alive!

The email he received only congratulated him on his acceptance to the school, but letter that he received in the mail said “direct admit” to Fisher.

Just found out that although my son qualified for the Buckeye scholarship, that he received nothing. They told me that it is awarded based on availability. I guess since he was accepted to Ohio in the last round of EA that they ran out of money. Now Boulder and Ohio will be full price.

@furbina1 curious if you got the email stating your financial award was coming? My son also wants to go to Boulder and I am groaning at the cost, we have not yet received any money from Ohio yet either…

I think scholarships are still coming out. Good luck to everyone
