Congratulations to all of you. Indeed stressful times but exciting times for sure. I was looking at OSU numbers and it seems as they are admitting more students this year than in years past. I wonder if they are concern with the Corona Virus affecting their yield, especially those from international countries
It’s tough because my daughter just got accepted but we’re OOS so we’ve never visited and tours are canceled. I’m hoping the college acceptance day(May 1) will be postponed to give people a chance to visit.
I can not imagine how these large Universities could extend the date considering all the logistics for housing etc. Unless the yield is not where it needs to be or perhaps an extra 2-week extension to May 15th. It will all come down to how all of this plays out. I could even see a delay in the Fall semester
Acceptances this year have been trending higher than last year all admissions season, so I doubt Coronavirus is the driving factor. But I would not be surprised if they waitlist a lot more people this year.
@momzilla2D Why do think they are admitting more students this year than in previous years? It is hard to tell if they also awarding more scholarships in general. Ohio State is one of those schools with a decent amount of OOS students. For sure not at the level of Alabama, but It will be interesting to see how the numbers play out
