Must have been someone else. My D20 was accepted in first batch, but has not paid enrollment fee.
Maybe it was @cypresspat ?
Here is an incredible number, OSU has admitted 31 percent more students than last year. This amounts to about 59 percent of its applicants. The Corona Virus has completely taken over the unpredictability of who is expected to enroll. I am not sure this is what they had expected prior to this incredible situation. Probably one of the best opportunities for many. I wonder what this will do to OSU ranking
@momzilla2D Ok thank you…think you’re right.
@cypresspat Thought it was @momzilla2D but she reminded me it may have been you…I think you said your child was admitted in the first wave back in November and you paid the $100 enrollment fee ASAP. Just wondering if received housing email yet? Think they said mid-March for those at the top of the list, but I completely realize everything may be behind schedule this year!
@kittycat1203 yup, it was my S20 who sent his $100 immediately in mid-November. And today he found his housing contract email. Unsure if he received it before today, but he has been checking at least every few days. It says it is due back in the 27th. He will complete and send back tomorrow. Lots and lots of options to pour through. He has his roommate already and they need to agree on their preferences and then off it goes.
@cypresspat Ok great! Good luck to him in getting a great dorm! Thanks for letting us know!
So I’m assuming all of the rest of decisions will be released tomorrow? I’m still deferred in state Hoping I hear something soon! I’ve been waiting since the end of December as that was when I was deferred. This is my dream school!
Head’s up…the portal is pretty extensive in terms of what they ask for. If u are not familiar with it, you’ll want to research both the location on campus your student will want, and the housing rate plan. They have to prioritize what combination they want (e.g. north, rate plan 2.). They have to list theIr top four options. My son already has his roommate, so they had to agree on those things (first test as roommates!). The 4 rates plans do not differ all that much except for 1 vs. 2. Rate 1 is $1400 a year more than 2. Also, not all rate options are available in each of the three locations. For example, there are no rate 3 rooms in North.
The number of options is a bit dizzying…2/2 suites; 4 per room suites. 3 in a suite. Back in the covered wagon days when I went to college we had one choice: 2 people per room. I was surprised how many options have their own bathrooms.
They have to make their meal plan choice, too.
The food option was WAY harder for them to decide on as clearly food is more important than anything else. But they got through that, too.
Now we wait until mid-July or so to learn where they are and how many roommates they have. Hopefully, anyway. With me and my husband working at home and our son also doing schoolwork all day…we have too much time to fret over the ‘what ifs.’
You can change the meal plan within the first week or two of the semester. And you can add dining dollars to any meal plan at any time.
D19 did the unlimited plan 1st semester. It worked well early on, until she got familiar with all the cafes and dining options. Then, she flew thru dining dollars. (Can’t use meal swipes at cafes with unlimited plan.)
2nd semester, she did the 14 swipe plan. That took some getting used to. 1 swipe = $8, so if your meal is $10, then you can use 2 swipes or 1 swipe + 2 dining dollars (less a discount for using dining dollars). So again, dining dollars can add up quickly.
still waiting on a deferral, does anyone know what time the decision usually come out?
Son was admitted to OSU Columbus (OOS), but was not admitted for pre-engineering, so will be declining offer. He got into and will be accepting another great school with an engineering acceptance (A different Big 10 School Rival - not saying who though :)) good luck to all and see you at football games!
PerfImp2002 - My Son got his acceptance email on Sat Mar 14th at 12.35am, So I guess there is still time to hear back for this week. Hang in there and all the best!
anyone heard today?
I’m waiting to hear on Morrill…
haven’t heard anything. ?
Is there a way to look at past weekly reports? I’d love to see the stats from mid-late January.
Was accepted on March 14.

Very creative essays
Very good recs
I’m still deciding if this is where I want to go… I’m leaning towards it but I need something to tip the scale for me. Does anyone have any info about the engineering program here / course load as a scholars student / campus safety / how easy it is to get from class to class / things that make OSU unique from any other school? Also how are people finding roommates? Is there an app that this is done on…? Thanks for any help you can give
I’ve saved most, but not all, of this year’s ‘weekly reports’. What do you need?
My son just received his housing email…he wasn’t accepted until 1/31 and we didn’t pay his enrollment fee until about a week later.
@cypresspat and @momzilla2D you were right…he has a ton of decisions ahead of him!
Does anyone know if true suites with common areas are only for sophomores? We looked very quickly at some of the layouts of the rooms that are labelled “suite/room bath” but they don’t seem to have a common area…except some have a separate room for their desks. But perhaps the common area spaces are only for upper class?
Is someone still waiting hear back?
