I am not a fan of Anna Leigh either, but I do respect how hard she works and seems to put in 110% - unfortunately also 110% belittling her dad !
Iāve loved this season. Iām not sure why but I have enjoyed the locations, the interactions between the teams and partners. Iād be happy with anyone but Anna Leigh winning. I do give her props for being so quick to complete tasks.
I donāt care for her, but I think Anna Leigh is tougher on herself than she is on her father. She keeps urging her dad to keep up and we see him panting and struggling. Iām not sure that she is being mean or belittling him. It might just be their relationship.
This episode seemed SO long - like the skydiving seemed so long ago by the time they got to the recycling and pit stop.
I literally checked how much time was left when daughter/dad were trying to get to the pit stop because I was worried there was time left to show him collapsing! Good at tasks or not, I cannot stand her.
The married couple that left, they had their ups and downs but he seemed emotional at the end in a good way. But I wanted them to hug each other or something - it almost seemed like one of them was a little mad at the other .
I wonder how AL likes seeing herself on the show. There are times when she seems really nice (like working with Rob and Corey) but her constant nagging of her dad is annoying and unnecessary. He is clearly doing the best he can. We canāt forgot, however, that we are seeing the edited version of the race so in reality she may be more supportive than she seems to be.
Very true but we have seen LOTS - time after time after time - of her nagging! So even if sheās nice sometimes she is naughty a lot!!!
I mean she wasnāt nice to Rob and Corey when she was begging the bus driver to close the door and take offā¦she became nice when Rob and Corey saved her and her dad from making that mistake to take the bus!!!
Good point @abasket. Forgot about that!
I think you are right about the editing. We havenāt heard her complain about him, or him complain about her in any of their confessionals.
Great episode tonight.
Three strong teams in the final 3, and Iād be happy to see any of them win.
Can we start a go fund me for a service dog? Teary over here.
Was there a service dog in this episode? I turned in late, in the middle of the Riverdance.
But your question made me think of a segment I saw yesterday about funding service dogs for veterans with PTSD. It was touching.
Great to have 3 strong and likable teams in the finale. I, too, wondered about the service dog for Garrettās child. I had no idea that the average cost to the family for service dog is $20K!!
Once Cory put on the Riverdance costume, wow, he completely looked the part. The other two older men, not so much!
Yesterday was Coryās day. He did both tasks quickly and worked with his dad on the swimming and poetry well too. And Rob and Cory clearly navigate the streets the best.
A friend has been approved for a service dog and I was surprised she is supposed to train the dog herself (she has medical and emotional needs). I donāt think that will ever work. The family has two dogs that arenāt very well behaved with barking and jumping on people.
There is a backlog of service animals because of covid. My friend had received a dog for puppy training and she was supposed to keep him for about a year, but the year came and went and she and dog had only been to a few group classes so the dog aged out of the training program. She kept him and he is now a reading assistant at the grade school she works at. He has a great life and helps the school children (a lot) but he was supposed to be a service dog to just one person. I think there is a lack of service dogs in the 3-4 year old age group because of covid.
And was relieved he wouldnāt need to balance pots on his head this time around
The connection between Cory and his dance teacher.
Iām intrigued by how well studied and how polished/polite the brothers are. I loved how they read the poetry and how they served the food. Greg studied abroad and speaks French. John studied music. They have a summer home on a lake so know how to kayak.
I did a little research to find out more about them. They are 25 and 27 years old. Greg studied CS at Amherst. He was a Google CodeU intern and a Cyber Security Intern at Deloitte. He worked for Deloitte after school and now works for C3AI. John studied CS, Software Engineering, and Music Composition at Northwestern. He interned at Google and Twitter and currently works for Google. That must be why, whenever they ask directions, they ask the person to pull it up on Google Maps.
I also have been really intrigued about/crushing on Greg and John. I canāt believe that they are that young.
Great episode! I teared up when Phil told the father and son they were team number one! They are my favorite but I like all three. The brothers are very impressive. They are good at so many things!! All three remaining teams have great attitudes.
Rob and Corey are our favorites too. But love the energy and attitude of all three teams.
Just finished watching. Add me to those who will be happy for whoever wins. Although I love the bond between Corey and Rob. When Garrett said that about the service dog I hoped that even if they donāt win putting it out into the universe like that will make it happen. And even with him saying that and Joel saying take his wife on an anniversary trip it seems like the final teams care more about winning than about winning the money. Probably because they all seem happy with their lives and themselves already. Nice. Great casting this season.
