Amazing Race 2024!

They are nurse anesthetists who put people under for surgery/procedures. Since their patients are asleep, there is limited interaction. This specialty might attract wanna be surgeons without people skills. LOL

The boyfriends are so cute!! Such good attitudes! Have we seen a team lose their crew before? I was surprised how good the mom was at the paddle game. She improved a lot over the course of the race.

So so different from last season. Filmed two years ago, they are apparently not leaving the western hemisphere, all flying together, etc. The fall season was so much fun as it was old-time TAR. choosing flights, etc.

I was not happy with how that episode ended, just read an article that the crew never showed up, and they finally let another crew already on the beach take them down.

There will be no fall season of The Amazing Race. Season 37 will air in Spring

I’ve been reading the follow-up interviews about Angie and Danny’s elimination and, if they are telling the truth, I’m surprised the show didn’t call a production error and let them keep racing, and then eliminate two teams the following leg. That’s assuming they finished behind the previous team by less than the amount of time they were made to wait. I haven’t read anything about the timing. I think Ricky and Cesar have really mastered racing. Juan and Shane were smart to pick the seaweed task. I don’t know why others didn’t. Walking in sand is hard but not worse than cutting your hands on wire. Their navigation skills are going to continue to hamper them though. I really like Rod and Leticia and their patter.

Yeah weird about the crew. I’ve watched for so so long and never had something like that done up.

I’m still in the minority - still don’t care for the boyfriends!

What a comeback by the pilots.

I mean, the seaweed challenge was no walk in the park. They gave it their all and could barely stay on their feed at the end.

Given the logistics and planning, it’s likely the next leg’s challenges were only set up for 5 teams and couldn’t be easily modified.

And it wasn’t a production error. Angie and Danny made an illegal turn at the roundabout, which the second car didn’t copy. One way or another, there would have been a time penalty.

Interviews with Danny and Angie make it pretty clear it was a crew error. Danny and Angie went around the roundabout more than once to figure out the correct exit. Their crew exited first at the wrong exit. After losing their crew, Danny and Angie proceeded to the next location as they had been instructed to do earlier that day. The crew, which had a local driver, proceeded to get lost for 90 minutes. Their crew still hadn’t shown up when they were allowed to choose the challenge, even though Danny was forced to say on camera that they had arrived. I wasn’t a big fan of them due to how much help they got from other teams, though I do like how much Danny supported his mom compared to some parent/child teams on past seasons. I do think production did them wrong in this situation.

I don’t care much for the boyfriends, either. Nor will I miss Danny and his mom.

I do like Rod and Leticia, mostly because they never fight and they always compliment each other (especially noticeable when compared to the way Amber and Vinny interact).

I don’t care for the boyfriends and I’m amazed at how well they are doing. I didn’t mind Danny and his mother. I was impressed at how well she handled the road racquet game.
I don’t have any favorites yet.
What I’m shocked is what poor navigation skills most of the teams have.

Danny and Angie seem Uber honest though - rule followers through and through (unless it’s unintentional)- I think they are to be believed

I read some more interviews with Danny and Angie and watched/skimmed their podcast about it and I do believe them. And Danny seems super happy with how it ended because it makes them notable in TAR history and is getting them lots and lots of attention that he seems poised to capitalize on. Or at least really enjoy. He seemed somewhat different in his podcast - more mature. I guess it is a year and a half later.

He’s been on several game shows and I believe he applied for Survivor more than once.

I couldn’t believe how much of this episode was navigational woes. Does anyone know if we can find out how far behind a given team was? Are these navigational problems adding an hour or more to the bad teams? Or are they only like 10-15 minutes behind and the edits are making it look like they are having so many many problems?

Sad to see the Danny/Angie go, although I don’t think they would have lasted very long anyway. Not too fond of the boyfriends, but they are racing well. They haven’t made any significant navigational errors, they work well together. I like the pilots, but gosh, they make too many mistakes - they won’t survive another bad one.

I really love the boyfriends–they are so unexpectedly amazing! I hope they take it or Rod & Leticia–who I really love, too.

The boyfriends have finished no worse than 1st or second place, correct? I’d like to see how they handle adversity----it’s easy for everything to be sunshine and rainbows when everything is going well.

I was in PVR last week. Just like I was on the Amazing Race.

What is that link at the bottom of your post?

Didn’t they say that the maps didn’t have the names of all of the streets?

They kept zooming in on the logo in front of Rihanna’s house. I wonder if that will be used in the final challenge.
