I haven’t bought anything yet today from Amazon… For a big sale to be successful with me the retailer has to dangle carrot that makes me run to buy it…I don’t see any nice carrots being dangled by Amazon and I don’t have time to go on an expedition searching Amazon for exceptional deals…
@BunsenBurner Some kind of iams cat food going on sale about 10 minutes from now.
@BunsenBurner Some kind of iams and temptations cat food going on sale about 10 minutes from now.
Thanks jonri! Cat food! It is a bummer I have a meeting in 10 minutes!!!
@acollegestudent, I saw some mini fridges at Costco yesterday.
Everclean litter was 20% off! good thing i looked! thanks!!!
ScatMat is going to be on sale in 3 hrs!
@greenwitch Thank you! Unfortunately, I don’t own a car, because I live in NYC. I can get it home on a hand-cart, no problem, but it has to be somewhere I can get by public transportation. I think the cost of renting a car would negate any savings otherwise.
@acollegestudent Try Home Depot right now. Sale ends today.
@acollegestudent, it you’re a Costco member, they have free shipping. I know it’s built into the cost but… it’s still possible. Here are the 3 compact fridges they have online:
Home Depot IMO is a better deal. Shipping cost is about $10 on those that do charge. Some have free shipping.http://www.homedepot.com/b/Appliances-Mini-Refrigerators/N-5yc1vZc4mo?redirect=true&searchRedirect=mini+fridge&redAB=A&NCNI-5
@cbreeze, just had the same experience. Tried for a baby toy. Clicked the second it became available. Got a “checking deal status” message for over 20 minutes and then got a message I was above 500 on the wait list and my chances of getting it are poor. Nevertheless 20 minutes later, the waitlist for the item is still open.
I have pretty much almost stopped ordering from Amazon. I find this whole Prime “anniversary” sale to be so blatantly manufactured just to increase Prime memberships and increase their business during a slow time pretty tacky. I just ordered two books from B & N online with a 20% coupon, free shipping. Ordered on Sunday morning, arrived today.
The news reiterated that while they sold a lot of stuff (and its still going) with higher end electronics being the best deals, many likened it to a garage sale, getting rid of junk. I regret my purchase and thats not the feeling I suspect they hoped for.
Studying the remnants of the sale from the comfort of my bus seat… It definitely looks like a collection of random crap with a few deals sprinkled in!
Prime Day was a bust, but the tweets have been highly entertaining (especially if you spent time perusing the deals today)!! #primedayfail
Well, I finally snagged one small gift for my grandbaby.
Tough crowd! I picked up close to a dozen smaller items at great discounts. Not high price items but stuff I use all the time. Free shipping on small items at lower than usual prices. What’s not to like.
Amazon remains the best!
I ordered a book…but it was not on sale.
Iove Amazon in general as it saves me so much time and effort shopping. But thought this sale was weird.
Mr. B got a cordless leaf blower by GreenWorks!
that was one of the deals of the Prime Day.
So, cat litter and a blower. Not too bad.
I ordered a pedometer. At the time, it said last one, then hours later said “in stock” but price was $7 more.
