American University announced their admissions Instagram page that decisions for Early Action will be coming out on Thursday, January 23rd.

Nope. Son’s is different too. Formatting and font changed. Looks much nicer.

My son hasn’t received an email from AU since Nov when they told him the EA app was completed. Nothing in spam folder either. Now he’s worried because he has friends who got an email today about results being released next week (and he didn’t get that email about sending senior grades either). The portal says all is good - checklist is all complete. He’s going to email the regional Admissions person and call tomorrow as well as talk to his HS counselor in case they can help.
I wanted to see if anyone on here is having the same issues of emails not coming through or if it may be an issue with his app or just a random email issue. Trying to calm my thoughts. Thanks!
Hmm, very odd! I would think if your portal says everything is good, it is probably all fine!

It is odd, but I wouldn’t stress too much. The HS counselor won’t be able to do anything that he himself couldn’t do, though. They don’t have any insider communication channel with colleges. Its likely just a random issue with his email, I’d check for typos and confirm in the portal all communication methods are correct.
To clarify, my son did not get an email stating that decisions were being released next week. We saw it on the Admissions instagram account.

Strangely AU sends emails to my son’s school email. I am not sure if he gets one on his personal as well. Check with your son if he sees it his school account. This is the only school that sends emails re his application to this account

AU sends emails to the account that was listed on the common app and/or used to create their admissions portal. So your son must’ve used his school email for one of those.
I know, I know this is astrology.
However, all of sudden 25s portal only shows the admitted students events in the calendar section on the home page. Is that same for everyone? (very well may be…).

SAME. All of the tours that were there previously are gone and now only admitted student events for February and beyond are visible.

Either way, if it is a tell or not, that’s pretty sloppy on their part. Fingers crossed it’s a tell!

indeed! a reach for my kid so trying to not get hopes up. Though they are not wildly out of GPA range they are below average and they had record numbers of applicants. There is a fair bit of naviance data for them, and could go either way I think!
Someone above said they thought it was the first year for this portal, so they may not know what shows up where? And I am sure IT people don’t really care

Also, if you open one of the admitted students events on the calendar, it says “Congratulations on your admission to American University.” Hoping it’s a sign!!!
