I feel like I missed how or when David and Mary became so close. This season seems to focus on just a few players. We don’t see much of Star, Mitch or Kamilla.
We also see a lot of physical challenges rather than puzzles. Other seasons there are more puzzles.
I have been thinking this also. Star is one of those - oh no threat to win - so her name never gets brought up. Early on she got screen time when she couldn’t figure out how to open the tube. Then, she gave the idol to Eva (which might turn out to be a smart move in the long run.)
I definitely think Star has under the radar qualities. I think she’s just honest and sincere enough to be palatable, and weak enough physically so as to be unthreatening to the strong alliance. But I know she’ll do what she needs to do to stay alive in the game.
I think the Joe/Eva power duo will be busted up sooner rather than later. It might be that Mitch or Mary gets the boot first but I can’t see Joe/Eva lasting much longer.
David sealed his fate by accusing Joe of going back on his word. He wasn’t wrong to think that Kyle had something else going on. And trying to bring Mary into the group. I found the episode to drag a bit.
If Kyle, Kamilla and Shaunin start working together, they can break up the duo. Maybe they’ll float that Mitch, Star, Mary & Kamilla are voting for Joe so that Eva will give him her idol.
If either Joe or Eva are in the final three, they will win. I think Joe will get voted out, then Eva will go on a challenge run and ultimately win Survivor.
The NDAs primarily apply to not revealing what happens during the season before the winner is revealed, ie., it’s more to avoid spoilers. Afterwards, many of the contestants do interviews and spill the tea on a lot. Apparently, Russell Hantz repeatedly violated his NDAs during the three seasons he was on - part of the reason Probst hates Hantz.
The podcast I listen to spoke about this - why did not see any content on what caused the David/Mary bond???
Bye bye David. You literally became too big for your britches with your dominating personality. That became a real turn off.
Interesting story about Kyle and his bit of a troubled past. He also mentioned a fiancé which disappointed me cause I’ve been SURE that he and Kamilla might become an item!
Joe DID NOT like David accusing him of not keeping his word.
Kyle alluded to a possible David and Mary hookup in the last episode, but he appeared to stop himself. Either he was just speculating or, he knows something, but caught himself before saying too much.
I really hadn’t noticed David flexing and admiring himself, but then, that is extremely common behavior in a gym. That’s why most gyms have mirrors in the first place.
I thought it was cute that Mitch was showing Star how to do the breast stroke on the beach.
I don’t think David was a sympathetic player. The “oh I live in a trailer and my girlfriend will leave me if I don’t win” story did not make him likeable to me.
