President Donald Trump is expected to address the nation during prime time Wednesday night. The address is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m.
CBS News will carry the entirety of the president’s remarks live at that time.
CBS is aware the address will take place during the three-hour Survivor finale. The program will begin at 8 p.m. as planned.
When the president’s remarks begin, CBS will pause Survivor and switch to live coverage of the president’s address. Once the address concludes, the network will return to Survivor at the exact moment it was paused. The episode will continue to the end of the finale.
I’ve made the decision not to watch till tomorrow night. I do not want to “pause” on a season finale. I may get spoiled, I’ll deal with that. If I get spoiled it will just be about who wins and how they got there will still be fun to watch.
Soph’s profession is listed as an entrepreneur. Her Linkedin says she went to grad school at Duke and now she owns a cell phone repair franchise. That’s interesting.
Apparently they left space for one male and one female from season 49. It would be really hard to play back to back but i guess the advantage would be you are an unknown to the other contestants. I had read the spoilers for who was going a while ago so i already knew.
Quite a predictable winner, but I think the jury got it right. At one point I thought she had blown it when her social game was called into question (not really bonding with anyone beyond her alliance) seeming to possibly open the door for Soph. I would imagine the jury interrogation went on longer than was shown so it likely had less impact. I was happy to see an all female finale.
Biggest fail was not taking the winner out when they had the chance!
Overall, an OK season. Was interesting that idols and advantages had essentially zero impact on the game!
In an August interview with Parade, Probst had said that the Survivor casting team went into 49 with no hard and fast rule about casting a certain number of people. Or even anyone at all.
“What we agreed to as a group was, ‘If somebody makes a big impression, we’re going to want them on 50. So let’s go into 49 with our own state of flux,’ Probst reveals in an exclusive interview with Parade. “And what happened was two players impressed us.”
“We did not go in looking for two players,” he continues. “We didn’t go in saying, ‘If we do it, it has to be a person of this age or this gender.’ We didn’t have anything. We just said, ‘Let’s just stay open.'”
I thought this was interesting. They asked them immediately after the game was over and there was only a two week turn around.
Indeed, Parade can confirm from preseason interviews with Rizo and Savannah (to be released at a later date) that both were asked to return to Fiji mere hours after the champagne was popped and pizza was eaten around Savannah’s win. It was an immediate yes for both, who had less than two weeks back at home before flying out again for Season 50.
Not sure the show is to blame but for me knowing when the season started who would be likely onto 50 (the correct rumors were rampant) kind of put a damper on the season.
Really I wanted anyone but Savannah to win. I thought Sophie might have a chance.
Look at Kristina twisting that knife in Savannah’s back with that question about naming family members. Call me terrible, but I kind of enjoyed that.
Savannah won 4 challenges but the competition was pretty nil this season. She’s in for a challenge when she gets to 50.
I’m not sure what else they can do. The leaks obviously come from within the show, but aren’t sanctioned by production. Some programs do film multiple endings, and I think Survivor did at one point as well, with the finalists only knowing who won when it aired.
I do miss the live finale and after show, but with back to back production, that’s not an easy option, although 50 has finished filming, so it could have been done.
The spoilers did correctly list the winner, although not the final 3. Most had Rizo at 3.
I am in a “survivor pool” where we randomly draw players (we each get 3) and the losers take the winner out to dinner. For Season 50 we are planning a draft rather than a random draw. I will have to do my homework.
