Anyone watch Parenthood, the tv show?

Thank you alwaysamom! Just programmed the DVR. :)

I can hardly wait. One of my favorite shows. Thanks for letting us know. Most of the fall shows are beginning the week of Sept. 18.

Ds2 and I are sooooo excited!

Thanks, I just set my DVR also!

cool - thank you!

The only reason I knew it was starting back is I saw it on my DVR under scheduled recordings! I had a season pass for it from last year and haven’t even paid any attention to when shows were starting this season.

Very excited for it’s return as well. From previews, it looks as if they are going to fast forward a few months and not pick up right where it left off.

Can’t wait. Now I just have to remember how last season ended. Prom? Car accident? Geez…I forget.

^^
Unemployment and surprise pregnancy.

I have always been a big fan of TV family dramas ever since I was a teenager back in the 70’s. It’s unfortunate that there are so few of them. I was sad to see “Brothers & Sisters” get cancelled last year. In fact, I can’t think of any other family dramas still on TV besides Parenthood. Can anyone think of any?

Just saw the listing for tonight’s show in the newspaper…yah…can’t wait.

I like the family dramas too and seems like the ones I love always get canceled…ugh.

remember “Family” with Sada Thompson,(think that was her name) and of course Thirtysomething…recently caught the first episode on Netflix, omg, did that take me back to my early days as a newly married person with babies…

Me, too! Some of my favorite shows of all time have been A Year in the Life, Family, and Get Real, all family dramas that didn’t last long enough. I was also a big fan of Friday Night Lights which I think was a much better show overall than Parenthood.

Was Brothers and Sisters definitely cancelled? I thought it was in limbo. I enjoyed that show, but felt they were all a little overinvolved in each other’s lives.

Parenthood has been filming around my son’s school. It’s always weird when you’re watching a show and you recognize places.

alwaysamom – Yes, Friday Night Lights was a fabulous show. I feel it never deserved the credit it was due.

myturnnow – I also was a devoted fan of Family and Thirtysomething. As you probably know, Ken Olin starred in Thirtysomething as well as Brothers & Sisters.

mimk6 – According to wikipedia, ABC cancelled Brothers & Sisters on May 13, 2011.

Somehow, I think this came out wrong. Anyway, I, too, sorely miss Eric and Tami Taylor, probably the best models for adult behavior on TV. (Not to mention the other denizens of what my daughter called “that little town in Texas populated exclusively by supermodels” – except for Buddy and Tink.)

As long as we are shouting out family dramas of yesteryear, how about Party of Five? Great concept – a family drama where everyone is a teen or twentysomething, and no one is actually a parent, but Matthew Fox sort of pretended to be. And, of course, the granddaddy of them all, The Waltons! Good night, John-Boy.

I loved Friday Night Lights too. I watched the entire final season on the computer this summer since I had missed the regular airings.

I watched Thirtysomething too. S1 was born in 1987 and I think that was the first season. I was hooked. Oh, I had completely forgotten A Year in the Life. We watched that one too.

We also liked American Dreams and Joan of Arcadia. Loved Party of Five, never missed it.

Brothers and Sisters was cancelled? That explains why the DVR couldn’t find any episodes to record. Darn - I liked that show. They were over the top in some episodes, but funny for the most part.

Looking forward to seeing Parenthood again tonight…

Anyone remember I’’ Fly Away with Sam Waterston and Regina Taylor? I loved that show. Really looking forward to Parenthood too.

My 24 year old spent last summer watching Party of 5 on her computer. Whatever site she found it on had every episode, except the very last one!! While she knows what happened, I think she read the episode notes, it was disappointing not to see the end. I actually was able to watch a few episodes with her while she was home; I really enjoyed the show as much the second time as the first.
