This show, and Grey’s Anatomy, have been my last holdouts for big 3 network TV. I think I’m down to Grey’s and that is tenuous.

^^ and Mad Men (is that still on?)

I was speaking of NBC, ABC and CBS - wasteland. I never got into Mad Men but Breaking Bad is one of the top shows of all time, IMO.

I hope this isn’t a spoiler alert! I looked on my DVR to read about next weeks episode; don’t read below if you don’t want to know, although I don’t think anything is given away, just more detail than shown in the previews.

On Jasmine and Crosby’s anniversary getaway, they receive exciting news; Kristina and Adam prepare for her next phase of treatment; Drew learns the results of his college applications; Joel and Julia plan an event for the entire Braverman family.

So we will see Drew and maybe they will tidy up the pregnancy, running to Sarah crying storyline; or they will let the viewer make up their own stories like we do here :)

It’s all very rushed…as if they were suddenly told half way through production that NBC only want 3 more episodes…the writers have rushed to finish everything off…I don’t want Ray Romano to leave…he with Sarah made Sarah enjoyable to watch. Jason Ritter is lovely but so not believable with Lauren Graham. So much good acting and writing being thrown to the dogs! (that refers to the entire show, not just these actors).

I still want to know if those were skittles in the last scene. If they were–where did they come from?

Not that I think it’s realistic, and not that I think it could be realistic within this program with so many different family threads, oversimplifying all of them to fit between the commercials, but it’s not uncommon for a schoolage kid, on the verge of accepting new parents to test them by seeing if s/he can behave so badly that they will give up on him or her.

oldmom- it would have worked on me! I would have given up! How about saying “I love you” to Victor? Does she really feel love for him? Isn’t it dishonest to make such proclamations before really feeling it? I’m not saying she won’t grow into the feeling but I doubt she feels it now.

Did anyone find the PTA moms totally hysterical? Like “Mean Girls” all grown up! I’m not saying the PTA moms can’t be *****y and intimidating (I have firsthand experience!) but they were so cliche!

surfcity, I also thought it was funny.

Local girl I know is part of the “Oh Hellos”, a music duet, and their song is playing on Parenthood tonight!
It’s called Hello My Old Heart. So cool. I don’t normally watch the show, but I might have to tonight, just because! :)

This episode is ripping my heart out.

did Sarah really have to say “I’m gonna make it work with Hank” twice?? seemed so self centered to me

Go Drew! That boy needs to have a happy new chapter all his own…sweet scene with the girlfriend, very mature handling of an ending relationship. his mother can learn from him

I agree youdon’tsay–the scene where Christina discovers the friendly fellow patient back in for treatment and Mark putting his heart out there so boldly, (albeit foolishly)

And Ryan and Amber. And Victor and Sidney. I’m just hormonal. But I loved Mark putting it all out there. I did that once, and it’s so difficult, but you get an answer and then you never have to wonder.

all I can say is poor Sarah; what is to become of her?

OK, if the show is cancelled we have happy endings all around, including Sarah manless.

Umm…did you see Sarah playing in the snow? She chose Hank. And, frankly, I think that is the choice that a “real” Sarah would make. Mark was such a lovable character, but as Kristina put it , “He’s a puppy.”

I felt sad watching the show because too many story threads were wrapped up. It made it seem as if they knew the show won’t be renewed. If that’s the case–kudos for trying to wrap up as many threads as possible.

I hope it is renewed. Despite its shortcomings–many of which have been discussed in this thread–it’s one of the few shows that has an ensemble cast and a believable premise. I disagree with many of the choices the Bravermans make, but quite seriously, the show celebrates family. Not a heck of a lot of TV shows do.

Like Gilmore Girls, it gives us a chance to talk to our kids about issues that matter. Not a heck of a lot of shows do that either. Here’s hoping this one is renewed.

Maybe it was a little corny but I really liked it.

I love the Bravermans. I will miss them Tuesday nights, and am holding out HUGE hope that we will see them again in the fall. This season was way too short.
