I’m thinking that they Crosby can’t afford to re-build the Luncheonette on his own and he still doesn’t know how to run a business. I liked the whole episode and didn’t hear one wrong note. I loved the storage unit moment with Drew and his Grandpa. Also loved the conversation between Max and Hank in the darkroom. Max: “I prefer real silence to Aunt Sarah’s voice”. Really, such a good ensemble class.
I only cried a little this week. Last week was a two hankie cry. D just started the series last summer and is now caught up. She streamed last week’s episode in her office during lunch and said she cried enough that she felt awkward opening the door and interacting with people afterwards.
It was a nice episode. Didn’t feel strongly one way or the other. Or course, happy Joel and Julia are seemingly back together. Glad that the rough edges are off Zeek’s and Camille’s relationship. Sarah and Hank? Whatever. But, yeah, I loved the hug Amber gave Hank. Made dh laugh out loud.
I hope before it’s all over that Ryan will come back. My family has two episodes left on our Friday Night Lights binge-watching, and I just love Matt Lauria. I guess the gift from Seth means we won’t be seeing him. Zeek’s episode in the storage unit makes me think he’s still a goner.
ETA: I didn’t cry at all this week. Cried twice last week. Ds2, at college, so identifies with Drew that he said last week’s episode really got to him.
I enjoyed the episode a lot, even as sentimental as it was. I agree that it was the easy way out of the storyline to have Adam cave and remain with Crosby at the Luncheonette. My favorite part of the episode was the scene with Hank and Max in the darkroom. Loved it!
Hmmm…am I the only one that feels that Joel and Julia are moving way too fast? If they had, in fact, made a deal to keep it from the kids for 3-4 months and had agreed to relationship counseling, then it would ring true to me.
I really hated it when they kissed at the ice rink.
Thought maybe Crosby was going to slam out of the house and do something stupid but he handled his dissapointment.
Memo to Joel: You can silence your phone in about half a second, even under a bed.
I thought the whole proposal/acceptance between Hank and Sarah felt very flat.
I agree mimk6, but it wouldn’t have been nearly as funny!
I have never adapted to the Hank/Sarah thing. Lorelai should be marrying Luke.
^^funny! I have been binge watching The Gilmore Girls, and am almost done. It is strange to compare and contrast her in two roles that are similar in a lot of ways. The scenes in the hospital last week were airing just at the same time that I happened to be watching the late episodes when Lorelai’s father had a heart attack and they were waiting at the hospital. Lots of overlap in dialogue, emotions, etc. She also looks different, in a way that does not seem explainable solely by aging.
“I felt like last night’s episode was the beginning of the end as they tied up certain issues.”
Yep. They had to wrap up all those story lines to get them out of the way for the series finale.
I still think it is Crosby who dies - but maybe that is just wishful thinking on my part.
emily, that would mean Adam could continue his good-guy ways of letting Crosby have his way … but eventually still being free of The Luncheonette! Then Adam would assume responsibility for Jasmine and her kids.
Still hoping for Ryan to make an appearance.
Fell asleep Thursday night so I had to wait for it to show up “On-Demand” so just watched today. I teared up twice, when Joel and Julia were skating and when Zeek and Camille were at the old house watching the kids play.
My gut tells me it is Camille who dies.
The tv is on with Law and Order SVU reruns. Two episodes, first with “Amber,” second with “Julia,” both from 2008.
I read that John Corbett (Seth, Amber and Drew’s dad) has been cut from the finale. I loved him in Northern Exposure and Sex and the City, too.

Thanks for posting that because it confirms that Matt Lauria is coming back!!!

What does?
The link in 1814.
Yes, he apparently is coming back and I imagine they’ll have a happily ever after story for Amber and Ryan. Ugh. I thought that Amber was well rid of him.
Here is what I want:
Zeek gets healthy and he and Camille live to a hardy old age.
The Luncheonette attracts several big name entertainers and the guys become super wealthy!
Max “grows up” and learns major coping mechanisms and is happy.
Ryan has sought help and is healing as best he can and he and Amber end up together with the baby.
I see zero chemistry between Sarah and Hank and I don’t think they should end up together.
Joel and Julia back together where they belong.
