I didn’t apply anywhere EA…just applying to 4 colleges in regular decision.
What abt u collegeconscious?

@oldfashioned really! Just 4 colleges… Well i am on 17!!! lolz these supplement will destroy my life. :D

@ahtesham
Well good luck then, I hope you get in with sufficient aid!

I’ve applied REA to Stanford!

@ahtesham, srsly, these supplements are the worst part .__. and yeah, just 4 colleges for now atleast…

@collegeconscious Thanks! so Stanford Hmmmm… Good luck to you too… Lets see what Stanford gives you. I hope you get a fat envelop from it.
@oldfashioned Oh! Good then… Do short-list your colleges considering every factor like aid,SATs and other stuff… Good luck

Didn’t apply ED/REA/SCEA/EA anywhere and regretting it now. I’m thinking of applying Round II ED somewhere for the January deadline.
Hope you all get full-aid acceptances by the end of the month

@PakiRootsian I think applying ED2 is probably not a good idea. Suppose you applied “Cornell” ED2 and other ivies or LACs in RD and got in 5 to 6 colleges(Including Cornell) so what if other RD colleges are giving you more aid or benefits than Cornell and you will regret it later. That applies to Binding decision Rest is up to you. I applied NYU ED1 and got rejected but will not apply ED2 so i have a chance of comparing different aid packages :D

Hello guys!

Iam also a 2017er and looking forward to apply in early decision. I have a 2030 SAT 1. I will retake it in Jan Inshallah. I took SAT subject tests this Dec. I have 10 A’s in O levels and 3 A’s in AS level. I currently have 4 subjects in my A2 level. I have few colleges in my mind to which Iam applying. Pleaase suggest me some colleges to which I should I apply based on my scores and aid desire. I want big financial aid package.

P.S I want to do Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

Thanks

thanks lol… kinda rush these days… hmn , so many supplement

@SAT456 Welcome bro! Engineering Ah!!! Uni of notre dame, Vanderbilt, Vassar, Franklin W Olin( its of MIT standard but check if it gives out aid), Haverford, Oberlin, Lehigh… I think these unis gives out lots of aid. and also check ivys. They are difficult but are extremely generous(Not most of them). Also apply to Wesleyan. It is ranked 2nd after Yale which have best aid package to international in whole US. Good Luck

Anyone applying to Amherst?? I’m applying there and i have a question regarding their supplement essay. In the supplement, some quotations are given which we have to base are essay upon. So i was wondering, do we have to mention the quote in our essay? I mean, like write it in the start of the essay or something?

I would suggest applying to MIT instead of Frank Olin. It has a class size of 86 and on-campus interviews are mandatory for international students so you will have to fly there just to complete your application. Ahtesham is right though, it is very very very very highly rated.
What you’ve said is the only thing that is holding me back. What if I get into Bates/Middlebury(Just shooting names off the top of my head, don’t know if they have ED II)? I’ll have to withdraw all other applications. And than I’ll have a nagging feeling that I could have made it to one of my dream schools. But in the end I could end up with nothing at all, meaning no place to go to and wonder why I didn’t apply ED II.

I wasn’t guided well and was told not to apply ED I. That is the best possible thing you can do, however. Apply ED I to your dream and see where it goes. If it doesn’t happen at least you’ll know where you stand

Try Harvey Mudd, SAT456.

Outside the US, I would suggest apply to places such as HKU and NUS where engineering programs are rigorous, highly rated and generally cost less than a US education.

Jacobs University in Bremen offers a 3 year B.Engg in EE&CS as well, you might want to apply there as well

And then I’ll*

I’m applying to Amherst. For the supplemental essay, just respond to the prompt as you see fit. Respond to the quote. And at the beginning of your essay write the quote you have chosen to reply to because the Common App does not have an option to list which prompt you are replying to for the Amherst supplement

@PakiRootsian Oh! Applying ED 2 is really a confusion for most students. If you want to Apply ED2 try Ivies or Top LACs Maybe this works for you. Well @SAT456 PakiRootsian is right Harvey mudd Its a very good college and also gives out aid. Good Luck and Your 2030 SAT score is good dude. Try writing outstanding essays and supplements and you will have your dream come true
Well @PakiRootsian One of my friend is studying in NUS and he said you really need 2250+ on SAT reasoning to getting in NUS as it is extremely competitive but i think giving it a try won’t be a bad choice and Jacobs is very good also.

oh, right…so we do have to mention it. Okay. Btw, which quote are u writing on? I’ve written on that William Hastings one ;)

For amherst supplement, I am thinking of writing on the stereotype topic.

I wanted to ask about how many international students are awarded aid at Harvey Mudd?

@talha5b Total amount awarded last year was $243,325 and 7 international student got aid Check collegeboard Big future for more details.

thnks ahtesham…

dude np 10char
